In case you didn't know, Tuface Idibia's latest album, Unstoppable, is being sold for N1, 000.
And some people aren't happy about it.
They even went as far as opening a facebook account called - Nigerians say NO to Tuface Idibia selling his album for N1, 000...
What they wrote - This Group was created to make an awareness, concerning the outrageous decision by a popular artist in Nigeria called 2face selling his latest Album for 1000 Naira, considering the hardship in Nigeria, and knowing full well an average Nigerian cannot afford to buy it, what becomes of them?

What becomes of people who can't afford to buy Tuface's album for 1, 000? lol ..what a question! Nothing will become of them...is it by force? :-)
But anyway, what do you guys think? Is N1, 000 too pricey for an album?

its ok,,,,,,,,,,he can sell it for N5000,,,,,, he has d right to fix his price b4 pirates will take it over TUBABA nothing do u,,,,KK
Isn't N1,000 the equivalent of $1 if it is N100 to $1.00? I guess looking at it from the dollar view point, that is nothing, heck down loading from ITUNE is 0.99 PER SONG and this is $1.00 for an entire album. Sha, I guess from the Naira perspective, that is kinda steep.
The man is trying to make a living as well, if you can't afford it then don't buy it, simple. If your garri is more important then tend to that and leave the cd alone. Some people spend more than that at the hair salon, some love music and will buy it. It is all relative.
How much does a CD sell regularly?
@Mrs Marek...don't convert to dollars. It's not about the value in dollars but in naira since that's what his fans in Nigeria are spending.
everyone can choose to buy or not to buy
its not too pricey for an album, just too pricey for tuface! who does he think he is? naija michael jackson? fela kuti? bob marley? the guy makes me laff in japanese!nobody will buy it! we will download it and pirate it!
Dem no serious rara, make the guy no chop?
Its his talent! He is not eating government money, neither is he putting his wife, sister, brother and uncle's dog to take over a 'government' position. They should let him be abeg!

If he sells is album for even 10k naira if its worth it so what nigerians some times i dont understand them. We like to complain too fucking much about things that are less important. Tuface has worked hard for himself and he deserves to sell his album at any amount that he wants
no be only 1k, na 10k him go sell am..mstcheeeewww.e wan use our money feed hin babies mamas..
cd wey dem go download finish for youtube..i laff in french.dude has a bloated sense of his own importance.lmao
of course he can and should.... in nigeria, we only pay for the cost of the CD itself not necessarily the content. an empty cd is about N200 and that is exactly what nigerians want to pay for someone's hardwork and sweat. no people... pay for the content ... that's intellectual property you know. i just hope the songs make sense sha
@ Anon 5:41pm...that's a very spiteful thing to say! this is someone's career you're talking about. in developed countries u know how much you buy a CD of recycled RnB crap by one wannabe artiste. everyone knows tuface works hard at his songs so give the guy some credit. i honestly don't think 1k is too much for an album. the empty cd is N200, add N150 for the pali... leaves him with about N650 per unit which is about £2.50. i think that's very fair
who is this mrs marek sef that does not know maths and is forming to know exchange rates huh? wtf? oh please. we are in nigeria missy. where people live on less than a dollar. you get that "less than a dol...lar... and do you know the equivalent of a dollar in naria -one hundred and fifty one naria five kobo. so, if majority of the Nigeria population can't afford that for their basics why the hell can they afford some flimsy excuse of an album.
if this douche bag knows what is good for him he better bring it down or face the consequences which is the obvious PIRATES. they will so enjoy this one.
nonsense. dem go hike prices and tomorrow start to complain of piracy when they are the cause of it. after all majority of his fans a motor park touts and penniless students who would be too grateful to buy a cheap bootleg.
by the way which one come be hard work? una eh? una? SMH na wah!
@ mrs. marek
Wow @ your logic.
Now this is the part where i sit back with hot bowl of buttery popcorn, a big jar of Soda pop and watch the drama unfold. Lol. Linda, you sure know how to do them up.
mrs marek or whaever ur name is N1000 is not equivalent to $1 ok and no 1000 is not too much, if we take our artists seriously and stop piracy a lot of nigerians with musical talents will become millionaires like their counterparts from around the world which is good for our country in terms of development.
deeboy which wan con be take artists seriously? abegi
so tuface decides to sell his new album for #1000, trust me not expensive, but for degraded talent like him its bloody expensive...as in since the African Queen album and a few songs in Grass to Grace album he has just been a boring talent ooo and apart from the fact that he is "one touch one born" everywhere...KMFT #1000 u know even consistent talents like p-square and MI don't request such mscheeew
All artistes will follow suit, wouldn't you? That is when people will start shouting. What is good for the gander is good for the goose. No bi so?
1000 is too much. 1 dollar is not 1000 oh, it's like 150 naira i think. an album on i tunes sells at 7 pounds, i think. 7 pounds is like aproximately 2000 naira. so 2face's album is too expensive, and he might lose out to the pirates cuz nigerians, incluuding me won't buy that album for 1000. i know he wants to make money but how many nigerians will pay 1000 for a cd? wen music shows are like that price? good luck to him sha. if a beyonce or rihanna album is almost 2000, with all due respect no nigerian musician shud ask for 1000 for their album because they don't spend half as much as what intl artistes spend. 1000 naira is too much for a developing nation like nigeria, and most of his fans are from the streets. that's not fair to them. i've heard some songs they r good. but i'm not buying the album. 2face i dunno what happened but i hope u keep going stronger sha.
i don't think da brother's is wrong for selling at 1k cos the album reads 'international edition' meaning not for naija. the dude's just trying to break into new market like every business man. And for all ya ignorant fellas... the packaging and production on the CD can stand with even that of foreign acts if you've seen it. so keep mute till you see the CD b4 you comment.

EXCUSE THE FUCK OUT OF ME, okay for trying to understand where the man is coming from with the pricing. Y'all broke motherfuckers can kiss my black ass! NONSENSE and many useless ingredients.
And you better post this, Linda because I don't know what I said that these idiots are calling out my name any ole way as if I desecrated the laws of the land!
mrs marek the MUMU wey wan be oyibo.
lol linda and you tru tru do as she write.
which wan con be motherfucker? she dey fuck her mama?
lol
no dey get wetin dey do u guys....do u even think about how much he put into the work?if bus carry u go oshodi for 50 and okada carry u for 500 no be who wan carry am go carry am,shey im force u.....but piracy?ow it should be punishable by death
For me I think N1,000 Naira for an international artist of Tuface's repute is mediocre. Other artists of international repute have their albums sell for far more than $20 USD. So like someone on the comment said, if he likes he can sell his album for N5,000 Naira, it going to worth it because Tuface Idibia is an international artist that has represented Nigeria very well. So if we should apply grease or grace to his success.
