Y did i think that was Genevieve for a second. Anyway, American ladies have the freedom of not wanting to have kids. There's no social stigma attached to be unwed or childless.
One of my professors and his wife, chose not to have kids.

American girls dont give so much thot about having kids and the pressure of mariage is NOT there...however, her inartful comparison of kids to animals is downright STUPID! Btw, Akata girls are sexually liberated in making babies or the next broda to 'bone'!
Not limit to American celeb alone. Even here in Nigeria, we have a lot of them. One of Nigerian celeb, An EX-Queen, once said child bearing is a pain and she wouldn’t want to have one. She is getting closer to 50 now and nothing yet, instead for her to tell us the real truth. She is hiding under pain syndrome. How can you determine the gravity of pain, when you have not undergone any? Yoruba adage says “ Bibi la bi o, Iwo na gbodo bi tie” Marriage is a scared institution, ordained by God and designed here on Earth. Simply because it doesn't work for you, that doesn’t mean is not good. Life is full of irony, challenges here and there. How can you be comparing God’s heritage with animal…. I think all this so called CELEB should be under check, such people don’t worth epitomized.
It is better to NOT have children than to have them and be a terrible parent...There are some people who just not meant to be parents so if they know so and willingly take themselves out of the running, I say Good Call, it's better than bringing them into the world, mistreating them etc. It is not necessary for everyone to be parents.

She in no way compared children to animals..all she said is that she has a better chance at adopting animals than she has at having or raising children. Bottom line she has no interest in having kids and would not know what to do with them if faced with that. PLAIN AND SIMPLE! NOTHING WIERD ABOUT THAT FOLKS!!
The choice to not have children is not an exclusive preserve of celebrities or americans. People world over are making this choice. The same way marriage is not a priority to some people is the same way children is not at the fore front of some people's existence. PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHOICES. Don't judge or crucify them if it doesn't fit into your one track view of how YOU think life should be. The comment about the ex-beauty queen is crude. Do you know what she is going through to have made that decision. You don't and it is certainly none of your business. She has told you she doesn't want kids and has gone ahead to tell u WHY too but you don't want to accept that.
We must not always negate when people make choices like this....they have a right to do so and they have their reasons. Do not presume to know what's best for free thinking grown up individuals...

Nothin wrong with this at all. Havin kids or gettin married is optional.
I've met so many women who choose not to have kids and that's ok too. But somehow Gabrielle just sounds like a woman scorned.
