Nigerian Medical Association to Jonathan Goodluck - "Insist on a medical practitioner” as health minister."

"We once again reiterate that the most appropriate health professional to lead the Federal Ministry of Health is a patriotic medical practitioner with integrity, sound administrative acumen, rich clinical experience and untainted record of service." Dr. Prosper Igboeli, President of the Nigerian Medical Association

That makes sense...

From inception conductor nor bus driver has never been in that position.
It has always been a medical practitioner and yet the whole health system is nothing to write home about.
Even the Doctors do run abroad for good facilities.
I guessed we need to try a Welder or Carpenter this time around for a change.

Medical pratitioners are notoriously terrible administrators. And Dr's have been using the NMA as a political launch pad. We need to try something else while the Dr's fo get themselves good admin skills if the want that job.
