The presiding pastor of Kingsway International Christian Church (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, is now set to raise funds to accelerate the building of the abandoned KICC University.
The man of God made it public on Sunday Jan. 24, 2010, during church service in Nigeria and the UK, that the Church of God has every reason to support the University project that has been abandoned for some months now. in his words "We all need to do this together. The Lord has put it in our mind to embark on a University project, and he has helped us to the level it is right now. So let's all contribute our quota to make it a realizable project".
The proposed KICC University, at Ode Omu in Osun State, has suffered several setbacks since the pastor embarked on the project.

What's with some Churches wanting their own Universities? And if church members contribute to building it, do they get shares in the University?

Wow... God laid it on their hearts to build a university indeed... I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that private universities in Naija are earning a shitload of money cos of the governemnt's failures in the educational sector. Let's blame it all on God, shall we?
If these churches are really working under the aunction of God, why would he be asking all of them to start unis. What about poverty alleviation programmes and helping the sick? I don't know men... Church in Naija = business.
every pastor and their mother wants to open a university!!!BS if you ask me..
It is because Pastor Ashimolowo suffered in life. He once sold bread as a young boy and could not go to school due to poverty. He later educated himself.
When did ritualist become pastors this days. All this fake pastors and their money schemes, its only God that knows who serves him
Thus a worthy cause Pastor Mathew Ashimolow and my desire is to put something into that project because i have the same dream for Zimbabwe.
If he wants a university then he should build an Ashimolowo university and use his own
money. Using the church and the congregation's money to build a church in his own home town sounds unscrupulous, greedy and fraudulent. I feel sorry for all the tithers and donators who choose to be too blind to see through this. Jesus has freed you all but you choose to be enslaved by a selfish and greedy pastor. So we are all to believe that God has not asked them to build ophanages, homeless peoples homes, free hospitals etc.
Ashimolowo gas joined the race of unmonitored and expensive church universities ghat only the very rich can afford. This is definitely what Christ died for!
