Ok, I'm back again...needing your opinions.
We've been working so hard on our mag's 4th edition...so hard. And I think we've finally got it right...in terms of content that is. This edition is bumper packed. From Olu Maintain's crib/cars/wardrobe, to interviews with great people, Guy Murray-Bruce, Matthew Mensah, and over 12 Naija celebs on our celeb chat page, to area boys in Lagos, with exclusive pictures. You guys need to hear what these guys have to say. Then stuff on Career, Interviews, Issues, TV, Radio, Music, Movies, Parenting, Marriage, Fashion police, Sex, health, Beauty, Modeling, True Stories and a lot of fashion pages...
You guys will love this particular edition.
But the problem is; we can't decide on a cover. I kinda prefer cover 1, but a few others think we should go with cover 2...

remember why our parents never wanted us to read those James Hardly Chase Novels cos of the cover even thou, they were detective stuff...
I'm tryn to picture my dad reading the mag and my mum seeing the front cover...
the first one is cool but her nose is so prominent, u could still put the other picture inside the mag where the models profile is....
I would suggest to you to use Cover 1. Why? The face, the pout, make-up and hair, it is arresting. Cover 2 is good, a great body she has, pls, don't get me wrong. And in my opinion, pls, use cover 1. Goodluck girl.
going for the first cover, the second one looks like a cover for a guy's mag which isnt what you should be aiming for.
Hi Linda, I'm kinda caught between the two covers. Cover 1 is ok but i think cover 2 can do without the feathers in her hair as it's not pronounced and it makes her look funny instead of sexy(im assuming that was the target of Cover 2: a sexy model. Besides that, the fonts and styles are great. You are doing a great job, Keep it up. What are you doing about bringing your mag to ph? We dont want to continue admiring only the cover of your mag on the internet.
The first cover is definitely the best as it looks classy. She's showing too much skin in the second one, making it look like a Sports Illustrated or FHM magazine, if you know what I mean.

First picture. Her hips area in the second one has been over brushed...doesn't look natural. Also for all the titles with questions in them, I think you might need to vamp up. They sound very...very Nigerian i.e. why are they all 18? Perhaps 'Why they are all 18' Same goes for the sex question. Perhaps you want to say something like 'To try or not' or 'To taste or not'...something other than Should you or should you not sha...

The more I look the more I find. The contacts in the first pictures are reddening her eyes. You should be able to fix that with Photoshop or somin.

Cover 2 is hawt. I think cover 1 is digging into her nose,and her beauty is not really showing with the head shot. For a magazine i personally think you want to go for something that people will see and not take their eyes off.,and if they take their eyes off, they would want to look again. My vote is cover 2

Hi i think i prefer the first cover but it is rather too close up..and the model is not too easy on the eyes...the 2nd cover on the other hand is too revealing and makes the magazine sem like it is not a serious magazine,,more like catering to the fantasies of men..if a young adult buys it with the 2nd cover, parents and other discerning people will get the wrong impression...which i am sure is not the idea you are trying to create...

On the cover issue, I prefer Cover 1. It's somehow original and looks innovative. Cover 2 is telling all the story (with the pix, that is). Give people pictures that will make them imagine (imagine her costume, figure and all); and a very creative picture.
Cover 1's pix fit that description. It is not only creative, it is innovative.
I go for Cover 1.
#2 is hawt, sexy and classy.

The first cover is pretty HOT. I just think she needs to not enlarge her nose like that. You know what I mean? Almost like, she's breathing out with force. Anyways, the 2nd cover would have be hot but the i'm a lil distracted with the prints and it takes a lot away from the model herself. You can mess with photoshop if you do decide to go with the 2nd cover
But good job! There's no doubt, this is one juicy edition. Goodluck with it and Happy New Month to you too...

it has to be the 1st one just becuase the 2nd one shows wayyyy too much..it kind of looks like a playboy or porn magazine . Because its a modelling mag does not been u should not show skin..when u do, it has to be tastefully done..haba cover 2 does not work it for me..

Number is much better but for the nose. BTW linda why do you have a black girl wearing blue contact lens? Black women are GORGEOUS BY nature, the fake this and that and the air brushing is just too over the top. Good work though.
Personally, I prefer cover 1 but ultimately it depends on who you target audience is. If it's men, then pick cover 2, if u want everyone including mums and kids to read it freely, then pick cover 1. it's impt that people have a good first impression about your magazine and the cover has a lot to do with it.

You know your target audience better than we do, I personally think the 2nd cover is the most eye catching of the two, but the hyper religious hypocritical Nigerian masses would choose the first one.
Linda, I suggest you find another design team to do your covers, I'm not trying to be harsh but they're doing a disservice to you, because this looks like an assignment in an intro to photoshop class or something and someone can do much better. Even if they changed the fonts, it'd be much better.
I suppose FM&B is your logo. If yes, looking at other edition, the font and style is not consistent. U have to stick to one style.
Cover 1 will give general readership. No man or woman will hind and read it including conservative.
Cover 2 is nice but some people will not like to be seen with it.

cover one is mosdef the one cos its more classy but the only problem is the lipcolor( go darker) and then the eye make up...in other words the make up needs to be revamped but the concept is perfect!all d best
Like most people said, numero uno has got to be it, but there is a tendency for the gorgeous models nasal cavity to overshadow the embedded message in the picture. A little toning down on that aspect will definately make the cover more appealing.
I am indeed very proud of you and what you stand for. You are a shining example for all the young'uns. Education is the key that opens most doors, feed the brain and you would not join the growing list of Nigerians captured here ( http://www.419eater.com/html/trophy_room13.htm)

You should definitely go with the first one, as it looks better, and has more quality. The second one doesn't look very classy, there's nothing wrong with the picture, but it looks dull-quality wise. Go with the first but reduce the size of the FM&B font just a tad bit, cos it almost overshadows the hat or whatever it is she has on her head.
cover 2 is cool but i think cover 1 is better cos of the kind of environment we are in.cover 2 makes it look like an unserious magazine,a better lover kind of magazine.

Linda, None of the two covers is good enough. You need to identify motion pictures.Cover 2 has some elements of motion but it is too sexually oriented. Unless if one of ylour motives bypublishing this mag is along the sexual lines then you can use Cover 2. Cover one is just a protruding haed that has no beauty at all. You also need to reduce some of the Headlines you have used. They make the cover too crowded. Just focus on the ones you think are captivating.

Cover 1 will clinch the deal for you hands down. No questions asked. The cover is quite imposing and will make anyone grab a copy.
Why is everyone complaining about the nose?. It is a standard African nose and we are not known for our straight pointed nose. Some oyibo even go for nose jobs to fix theirs but that is not our culture so why the fuss.
@Madame- you made a good point on some of the captions. Linda, heed her advise and revise some of your wordings on the magazine. If you want your mag to eventually make it in the international market some of the captions need to be worded better. Just an advise.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with her 'glaring' nose. It's part of the unique contribution to her strong beautiful facial features! Y must beauty be defined as having a 'narrow' pointy nose? Pple stop being ignorant and realize that beauty come in all shape and form!

I would go for cover 1, is not like your mag is another version of play boy magazine(as in cover 2) so i think cover 1 is okay.
I would also suggest you reduce the boldness of her face a little (In Cover 1).

I would go for the first since her face is striking and the make-up is simply stunning. Being a fashion Magazine, this is more in line of what you do. The second is nice but her pose is not very high fashion and to be honest, makes one think Men's magazine or sports illustrated.
However, the second could ensure you make a lot of sales but you would need to re-shoot the model in a more high fashion pose.
Another little thing, "should or should not" doesn't sound right since it's not something that one has to choose between trying it or not trying out.
Pity your magazine is not distributed in Germany or Denmark, I would love to read it. perhaps in the future :)
