NEW DATE FOR STARS ON THE RUNWAY.

Someone, and I want to believe it's someone from the organising committee of 'Stars on the runway', sent me an email on the new date of the event...and this new poster (Below). I'll post the announcement exactly the way I got it...I guess that's why they sent it to me.
STARS ON THE RUNWAY, "The Fashion Show with a Difference", announce new date.

The event that has gripped the fashion industry with great expectation and anticipation has announced a new date after the need to postpone the event due to financial deadlines. The new date, some now say, should have been the original date because it signifies the perfect alliance and arrangement of numbers for good luck and will not come around again for another one thousand years.
Saturday the 7th of July 2007 (07/07/07) is now the date when Nigeria will witness 60 Celebrities, outfitted by 12 Nigerian designers, taking turns on one runway in an event that has never been seen before. Stars On The Runway promises to be THE event of 2007, and on that special day the Stars are going to come out in full force to make it a day of excitement, 110% entertainment, networking, and glamour with a million camera flashes on the Red Carpet! It will also be a day of fulfilment as the proceeds from the event will go to an HIV/AIDS charity.

Already, since the announcement of the new date, there have been several enquiries from sponsors to be part of this momentous event and also the interest from foreign media has grown in bounds. On the day, big names in the fashion industry and publications like Marie Claire, Vanity Fair and American Vogue are expected to be in attendance.
All the celebrities are set, the designers have completed their outfits and the new added feature of accessories display is being finalised. In the coming weeks, the media frenzy will hit Lagos and other parts of the country (starting with the billboard campaign in April), and the tickets for the event go on sale in banks and other outlets. A new song, Waka Waka, has just been produced by the next Nigerian RnB/Hip Hop sensation and he would be performing the song live on the day with his 10 piece band and dancers. There will also be a surprise performance of the Nigerian national anthem by a grandson of a legend to start the show and many more exciting features that will be revealed as the new date draws closer. Just watch this space.

STARS ON THE RUNWAY is produced by R70 World UK.

I hope I get an invitation for doing this o!
The lady behind this event, Ronke Apampa, once was my 'little' friend. We did a few fashion shows together and I remember teaching her a thing or two about modeling before she left for the UK. I'm so proud of her!
