2007 ELECTION RESULTS!

Well we all know who's going to rule Nigeria come May 2007. The new President-elect of Nigeria is Umar Musa Yar'adua from Katsina State.

INEC Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu released the result of Saturday's election some hours ago.

Here it is...

PDP - Alhaji Umar Musa Yar'adua - 24, 638, 063 votes
ANPP - Mohammadu Buhari - 6, 605, 299 votes
AC - Alhaji Atiku Abubakar - 2, 637, 848 votes
PPA - Orji Uzor Kalu - 608, 803 votes
APGA - Odumegwu Ojukwu - 155, 947 votes
DPP - Bafarawa - 89, 241 votes
FRESH - Rev. Chris Okotie - 74, 049 votes
ADC - Pat Utomi - 50, 849 votes

Others are AD - 89, 241, ALP - 22, 677 votes, NUP - 4, 355, ND - 5, 408.

25 political parties contested for this election.

So there you have it, the next man to rule this country is Umar Yar'adua and I am mighty glad he won. I was initially against an 'Hausa' ruler, but having gone through this man's profile, I think he more than qualifies to rule us. He is honest. One of the only THREE Governor's the EFCC did not indict for embezzlement. The state he governs at the moment is the only State in the country with excess reserve. He is what we need at this point in our nation.

Hopefully he'll do better than his predecessor who I think has done great for this nation.

If you are not happy about the elections conducted 14th and 21st 2007 and also not happy about Yar'adua winning the presidential elections, do share your views with us.

I am not Nigerian, but a lot of my friends who are seemed to favor Umar Yar'adua. I wish the nation well afterall. Good to hear that you have a new labtop. and your address to the Tosin gossip was good in that you were feeding your bloggers but still not detroying someone's character. Your frequent updates are fab.

I'm still not sure about him man. He just seems like a weak and living ghost to me. I'm sooo disappointed with Pat Utomi's results. I thought d youths were so behind him. Whatever happen na?

yes , im quite disappointed at Pat Utomi's results, was expecting more. The fact that Yar Adua is honest does not mean that he will assist the country to grow. The two problems in this country (corruption, and mismanagement) okay he is not corrupt, so how will he manage the country? you said he has excess in his state??? Good, you should have excess when everything is working fine. From what i have read on bbc and african reuters, there is no access to water in many parts of Katsina. So is the money just there to sit down and do nothing? This election has just been a big FRAUD

yar adua won?!!!! there's a suprise , i would never have guessed it never never( i'm being sarcastic by the way)
This country needs serious prayers. the elections where a huge joke and a waste of time. God help us cos we have no mandate and we've effectively been disenfranchised, we dont chose who we want anymore.
God help us all.:-(

Anybody who lost that election was always going to cry foul ! Let us move on before the Military boys jump in with their usual excuse. Young democracy, we shall grow!
Umaru will do well and if people are aggrieved, use the tribunals and the courts, please.

Re-run it 50 times, do you really think Nigerians voted for Buhari or Atiku ? Fraud? Are you going to get the next INEC from Mars or do you get Americans to come and conduct your imaginary 'perfect' election ?
We are Nigerians and we allowed fellow Nigerians to rob the people where this happened! We need more education , not violence!
