PLANE 'SHOT DOWN' IN SOMALI

I don't know how many of you read about the cargo plane carrying 11 people that was shot down after taking off from the main airport in the Somali capital Mogadishu, on Friday March 23rd.

It crashed in the city's northern suburbs. Eyewitnesses said the plane plunged to the ground in flames.

"Three rockets were fired at the plane and one hit the plane," Somali government spokesman Hussein Mohamed Muhamoud told the press.

The cargo plane, a Russian-made Ilyushin-76 was said to be carrying engineers to Somalia. The crew were nationals of Russia. Everyone aboard died.

This is not how we should treat each other. It's sad.

By the way, Somalia has not had an effective national government since 1991. That's also sad!
