"I'M SO SICK OF DOUBLE STANDARDS. Help me understand this please: so when a woman cheats on her man ,y'all don't call a side dude "home breaker" and "wife snatcher". Instead,wife is labeled as an irresponsible whore. When a man cheats on his woman,it's not a man that you will blame. You justify his actions just because,(even though in most cases his married self is the one throwing bread at them babes) and it's all "side chick's" fault. She is the one you will abuse,insult and call names,"husband snatcher aka home breaker"..etc... I don't get.. The most painful thing is, it's WOMEN who support,accept and teach their daughters to live according such double standards,not even men sef. It's your fellow lady that will call you names and point fingers at you. Stop shaming one another all in the name of idiotic competition based on jealousy and personal insecurities among women. YOUR MAN DOES NOT TREAT YOU RIGHT BECAUSE YOU SETTLED FOR IT AND ALLOWED IT ,NOT BECAUSE OF ANOTHER WOMAN".

Some hard truth there. Though the title of the article almost made me dismiss her as one of those self righteous feminists. On reading the piece, I had to agree with her completely. The double standards in men-women relationship is not doing our society any good. Fairness, mutual respect, justice for all, I think is God's plan for humanity. But we no dey hear word.

My wife and I have been married for about 7 years now and we are blessed with 3 LOVELY children. I would do anything to spend eternity with my lovely wife.
But for more than 6 years now of our marriage, I have endured mental torture because she disrespects me, she never admit or apologize for wrongs she did but always looking for whom to blame, she doesn’t let go of any wrong I did in the past.
Most times, I had to leave the house to avoid hitting her because of insults, cursing from her.
While outside the house, I would plead that we need peace in our home to progress and that we can both make our home happy but each passing day she got worse.
Despite all these, I still support her and family financially, morally and in prayers
Also, I observed that most of domestic violence (DV) commenters focus mainly on abuse against women!!! What about domestic violence against men?

Good thing you walked out. I used to do same to ex whenever she starts abusing me verbally. Its not easy to walk away. With all the testosterone in my body.. I think I did a great job not hitting her too. I believe if women had the same testosterone levels as men (or more), they won't be able to perfectly control it all the time. Men and women are built differently.

Who is she?
Ever since the world was created, there has only been one perfect marriage - the marriage between Adam and Eve. The first ever incident of DV happened in that marriage and it was by Eve who gave Adam the forbidden fruit, this made Adam to lose his greatness and all his Godly attributes. Since then no marriage could ever meet the original standard intended by God.
So men have since time immemorial been victims of DV at the hands of women.

Don't think the DV is one sided. I hv seen women abuse their partners too, verbally and physically. It's just crazy. Personally, i detest violence with a passion, hv sworn not to take and certainly won't give it. It's a deal breaker.
