The statement David made was a proverbial statement. I dont think its bcos David's mother is a sinner. To the best of my knowledge, All men, born according to nature, are born in sin since the fall of man at the garden of Eden. The sin we are talking about is "without the fear of God", "without confidence towards God and with concupiscence", thereby bringing condemnation and also eternal death to those who are not reborn through baptism and the Holy Spirit. So since we all originated from Adam & Eve, we are automatically born in sin. That was why Jesus came to die for us. To separate urself from such foundation, a rebirth is required which is giving ur life to christ. God Bless.

when prophet samuel came to anoint david, jesse brought all the other children forward before prophet samuel leaving out david cause he (jesse) sees him not relevant and not needed. David wasn't path of the other children, he was like a side child who was left in wilderness to tender the flock.
