Dare devil armed robbers this morning raided a First Bank office situated in Amaraku, Imo state. They reportedly carted away millions of Naira. More photos after the cut.

One would have expected these banks to be proactive and have armed personnel guarding their establishments around this critical period. Even an imbecile (no offense!) can tell banks are targets of armed robbery at Xmas. It's going to be the same story come next year, the result of the same absence of strategic planning that has bedeviled the entire Nigerian system. The Sports Minister hoped the female football team would not win the tournament and so had no financial arrangement in place to take care of them (though he found money to charter a private plane to take him to watch the team's final game!); same way bank managers hope the robbers won't strike again this year after they did so last year. Clever, isn't it?
