You didn't read the part where she said her friend begs for money. My only problem is why she'll choose to make it public if she was indeed her friend.
Makes sense to live on the Island if she works on the Island. She probably leaves home at 7.30am while you that live in Ikorodu have to leave home at 4am for the same office. She probably walks to work while you spend 2k on transportation/petrol everyday. She's fast asleep at home at 9pm while you're gearing up fo 3 more hours in traffic before you get to your 300k per annum apartment in Ikorodu. Her car is in better condition than yours because she doesn't drive it for 6 hours everyday like you; you are alway taking your car to the mechanic to get it fixed. You buy more fuel than she does. You eat out more often than she does because you don't have time to cook. She is more productive at work because her body and brain get enough rest. You dont have time to socialise because all of your free time is spent in traffic.So much more. In one year, you would have spent roughly the same amount of money as she when you combine rent, petrol,food, etc but the difference is you would have aged three times more than your friend because you live in Ikorodu and she lives on the Island.
