Photos: Fire outbreak at Birnin Kebbi power substation leaves two communities without power

A fire incidence occurred in Birnin Kebbi power substation around 2.00am on Friday which led to two 7MVA transformers supplying power to Gwadangaji and Tudun Wada areas, completely burnt.

Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu who personally visited the site of the incidence, while appreciating that no life was lost during the incidence, he expressed his concern over the inability of people from the affected communities to have power, and called on the power company to be able as soon as possible find a solution.

He also raised concern over the cost of the transformers, amounting to over N60 million each.
The Governor called on people from the affected communities to be calm while efforts will be made to restore power, though he emphasized that such is the responsibility of the Kaduna DISCO.

The Technical Manager of the Station, Mr Dogara also assured that they will do their best to see that people in the affected areas are provided with power.
