Facebook User - Olawoore Mariam Olufunmi shared a post two
day ago on Facebook, describing how a male teacher at a school in Ifo, Ogun State 'spanked' her little sister. When the
girl complained and reported to her parents, another male teacher
who's friends with the said teacher, roughly beat and injured her.
Mariam went to the school to report and confront the teacher on behalf
of her sister, but they argued, exchanging words and she claimed he made an attempt
to also hit her. Read what she wrote after the cut...
"There's this teacher in my little sister school called master chidi. During last term, my sister complained he spanked her.. We thought maybe it was a mistake not until yesterday that my sister complained about same thing. Mum was so angry that she wanted to follow her to school, I had to calm her down that she should let me handle the issue. I had to request for few hours from work, on getting there, I was not allowed to see their principal, I saw the so called "master chidi" and he couldn't deny it. We exchanged words and he almost hit me. The principal came outside, took me to his office and apologized that they are going to take necessary actions. I thanked him and left.. About 4:30pm, mum called me that my sister has been beaten by one of their teachers who happened to be master chidi's friend. His reason was why can't my sister tell him before going ahead to tell her mum. Can you imagine that? The school's name is ACCESS MODEL COLLEGE IFO, OGUN STATE.."
Mariam has however given updates on the issue today.
According to her,
'the matter is now at Ifo police station. The male teacher ran away when we got to the school with police to arrest him'. Also there are indications that her little sister was not the only one that was abused by the teacher.

Just imagine the guts! So was it his head that was pursuing him when matter com burst! I thought he was a man? I hope this case is treated well the right punitive measures adopted to deter potential abusive teachers.
Time has changed. You can't just physically abuse someone else's child and get away with it.
I won't take that from any teacher, that's no way to discipline a child.not after paying their expensive school fees.
We used to be beaten in our days in college and it was centainly not seen as an abuse but a corrective measure, what did your sister do that she was smacked? I don't think going to confront the teacher Was a very good idea, instead the principal would have been a better option

I was abused like that by my vice principal... I took about 8strokes of cane behind my back, my back was bleeding. This has to stop.
If teaching is the calling of these teachers that abuse children, can't they look for another job before they kill somebody's child? Terrible!

Hmmm I think this lady and her family just gave the little child reason to misbehave. I don't think any teacher will just go about spanking a pupil if that pupil didn't do anything to deserve to be spanked. I think the proper approach would have been to ask why the child was spanked rather than raising the issue to an unnecessary level. However I do not support the fact that the teacher's friend beat the child a second time without just cause. Let's remember that most of us in our 30s to 40s are level headed cos our parents and even teachers didn't spare the rod, however not sparing the rod doesn't mean a parent or teacher should kill a child.

Anonymous 5:32 , do u really have to insult her. She only asked a sincere question. In the story, the narrator never stated what the sister did. She only said what happened to the sister. Learn to think before you type.
