TWO TYPES OF BLOOD PRESSURE
There are two types of High Blood Pressure;

Secondary Hypertension: this is the kind of hypertension that appears suddenly due to an underlying factor, it usually causes higher blood pressure than primary hypertension. Secondary hypertension can be caused by various conditions and medications like:

High Blood Pressure Have many Risk Factors
• Age and Gender: the risk of hypertension increases as you age. In men, High BP is common as early as 45 and in women after 65.
• Race: black people are more likely to having hypertension than white of same age.
• Family History: High BP tends to run in families.
• Being overweight or obese: this increases your risk of hypertension.
• Lack of Physically activities
• Too much salt (sodium) in your diet
• Too little potassium in your diet
• Stress
• About 60% of people with diabetes have high blood pressure.
• Certain chronic conditions.
Even though hypertension mostly affects adults, children may also be at risk. Children with kidney or heart problems or those with poor lifestyle as unhealthy diet, obesity and lack of physical activity can be predisposed to hypertension.

COMPLICATIONS OF HIGH BP
High BP if left untreated over time can increase your risk of a heart attack, stroke, kidney disease and vascular dementia.
Cardiovascular Disease – High BP can cause many diseases of the blood vessel and the heart including:
• Stroke
• Heart attack
• Embolism
• Aneurysm
• Vascular dementia
Kidney Disease – High BP can cause damage to your kidney and prevents them from proper functioning. Mild to moderate chronic kidney disease does not usually cause any symptoms. More serious cases may require dialysis or kidney Transplant.
