Photos: Petrol tanker explodes in Ojuelegba this morning

A petrol tanker fell and went up in flames early this morning along Ojuelegba road. Fire service agents are currently trying to contain the fire...the building above is located at Abimbola Shodipe by Western Avenue, Ojuelegba and has been completely razed by the fire. More photos after the cut...

Please people help me thank God. I got a call from our security guy at 5.23am dis morning about d fire. The guy sounded confused my office is on Abimbola shodipe right nxt to first bank. I started dialling 112 didn't go through then dialled 767 I only got a recorded voice saying someone will be with you shortly. Then it rings and cut off. I started googling fire service in surulere, all the landline numbers I got from my search were not functioning. Nothing works! Thank God no life was lost and it didn't get to our warehouse. Alhamdulillah. We had to call a CFO with Npa that we knew and he got through to the necessary people. God help Nigeria. Meanwhile folks were busy taking pix. PS there is a federal fire service right opposite the incidence don't know what they were doing

We must give kudos to the men of both federal and Lagos state fire service. When the accident happens the swung into action by spraying camical on the petrol but unfortunately the fire brake out at shitter proplerbly from those that smoke Indian helm near the canal so the fire traced back to the tanker which caused explosion. They fire back the fire and eventually put it off around 5.30 am. The fire started around 3 am

Tragedy

I thought they said they have fixed the fire service systems, and yet the number aren't going through... Lagos state government needs to really do a whole lot

Unknown said...

Thank for the testimony

Thank God for your life, you did the right thing, and some were more concerned with taking pics,

It's was a life experience for me. It's felt like end of the world, then feels like Boko Haram stormed Lagos. Cloud of darkness and fire and heat.. This was a continuous explosion and everyone off with night gowns for their life. My family joined the crowd with just my certificates and drove off to no where. Thank God we came back still having our property intact. This isn't funny at all. God at work I must say.

I hope no life was lost?? May God come to our aid.

Ojuelegba the famous. Ojuelegba immortalized by Wizkid! Yet Ojuelegba keeps churning out negative news each day to my chagrin. If it's not a trailer falling off the bridge, it is tanker explosion wrecking havoc and worsening the already stale infrastructure in the area. Na wetin Ojuelegba people do witches and wizards and government?
