Learn Africa- NECO Excellence award presentation

Wednesday, 2 December, 2015 will remain unforgettable for recipients of the Learn Africa-NECO Excellence Awards sponsored by the Learn Africa Education Development Foundation (LAEDF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Learn Africa Plc., the foremost Education resource company.
Students, teachers and schools that distinguished themselves in the June/July, 2015 NECO SSCE were present at the Protea Hotel, GRA, Ikeja to receive these awards.  The award ceremony is in line with the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to the celebration and promotion of academic excellence.
According to the Chairman of Learn Africa Plc. and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of LAEDF, Chief Emeke Iwerebon who gave the welcome address during the National award prize presentation “students and their teachers are primarily motivated to achieve excellence by intrinsic rewards such as self-respect, responsibility, ambition and accomplishment.
But if the truth be told, this may not happen at all, except someone picks up the gauntlet to do the right thing: motivate them appropriately, inspire them profusely, and reward them generously. This is what Learn Africa Education Development Foundation has chosen to do in close collaboration with NECO”. The whole essence of the Learn Africa-NECO Excellence Awards is to bring out to the fore the greatness in every child, in the shape and form that everyone can touch, feel and readily identify with.
The awards presentations were held in two categories, i.e. national and state. The state awards started on 17 November, 2015 and ran through till 26 November, 2015 at Learn Africa regional offices nationwide where prizes were given to the best three candidates and their teachers. Books were also donated to the Libraries of the schools that produced the three best performing candidates in each state.
The national category took place on Wednesday, 2 December, 2015 at the Protea Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where seven (7) students and a teacher (from the school that produced the overall best student) were awarded various prizes.
