So on one of those days I hung my head and claimed life had ended for me, I walked past Gbolahan. He lives right across my house and was in class with one of my elder ones. I heard he was very brilliant but I've known him to be a chronic drunk for at least 15 years...His case was worse than a mad man. He'd drink 'ogogoro' all day, get beaten up and slapped by passersby, get hit by vehicles and then walk/shout all over the street all night. He barely slept and on the days he did, he would sleep in any 'maruwa' he finds parked behind my house. He practically had no life outside his bottle of gin.
To
the glory of God, Gbolahan has been clean in the past three weeks. Now
he converses coherently and does not stagger anymore, his eyeballs are
clear...The whole of ire-akari road is amazed.
He still needs bedding, clothes, money for feeding etc.

I'm grateful to God for the privilege to serve humanity but I'LL BE NEEDING PROFESSIONAL REHABILITATION for my elder brother Gbolahan, I WOULD BE GLAD IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME OUT. That would be the best birthday gift ever.

You are as beautiful as ur heart is and a great source of inspiration to millions of people especially youths like us who are still waiting to receive help instead of helping out not just in Nigeria but across the globe. This little act of loving without expecting nothing in return would be counted as one of the most giant steps taken by a human to better his or her environment. If this guy is off the street, it's a great plus to ur street so if jst a million people in Nigeria out of 170 million could replicate this, I'd rather leave the result of this gesture to our imaginations.

I know GBOLAHAN in ireakari estate, and i am so very happy that GOD has used you finally to bring chnages in his Life,all you said about his drinking habbits is 100%, i see him mostly @ delicious Treat locates in ireakairi estate and mostly late in the Nighy. I had a near similar experience also but was too shy to share. It was also on my birthday on the 19th of October this year. It started as regular day for me too but it ended up being an amazing day. I had the opportunity to help a blind guy that sat close to me in a bus to school, I don't even know how he got into the bus in the first place, he wasn't with any stick or anything that would make him pass as being blind, he even asked me where faculty of arts was and I showed him only for me to alight and another passenger drew my attention to him,he said I should help him cross the road. I just didn't know how to react at that time. Anyway, the blind guy told me to take him to where he would eat,I did, I paid for his meal and also took him to the office where he was supposed to take his result as a graduate of the school. I missed my classes for the day but I felt I had received a precious birthday gift-an Act of Random Kindness. I think we should all practice it with what ever opportunity we get.
