In America, PAs to dignitaries are in their mid 20s to Mid 30's. My boss always has them less than 30 and Its best they are not married as they have to be in the office sometimes till 9 pm. They also travel at short notice. They also burn out fast. They have the most energy to do that bag carrying and scheduling. This is a good thing. No need giving the position to a 60 yr old when there are able bodied young men.
