Physically exhausted...so I am going to let a Benson Idahosa student explain what happened. Read below...
I am a student of Benson Idahosa university, a private university,
situated in Benin city. Today, a student of the school Justin (pictured left), a 200l of International Studies and Diplomacy died at the school annex medical
facility. Three days ago, the deceased who was the only son of a single mother was ill and went to the school clinic for medication, he was
immediately admitted in the school clinic without being examined and
drips were admitted on him for three days. Justin (the deceased) was
ignored on the sick bed with drips on him. It was late this morning that the negligent nurses noticed the boy's
lifeless body but it was too late as his pcv had dropped to 13. He was rushed to the school apex hospital (Faith Mediplex, which is also owned by the school's president, FEB Idahosa)
This evening, the students gathered at the clinic and revolted as the
death of Justin was sudden and was caused by the negligence of the
'very rude' nurses, the riot which was as a result of the death was also
propagated by other vexations such as lack of water, electricity amongst
other things.
The school authorities are now threatening the students with increment in fees and expulsion of the students.
Attached to this mail are pictures from the scene. The windows
were smashed and the door broken down coupled with other forms of
violence. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace

The truth is out... my brother was in the health centre for 3 days only on drip. He was pale his blood dried up. He needed just one blood transfusion but none was given. Upon examination today not a single drop of blood was found in my pappy's body. All you nurses and doctors that let this happen to my brother after our sweat and tears to pay medicals, the God that I serve, Jehovah overdo, mighty in battle, The God of the Jehosephat, Moses, David and Daniel will visit you all in his own special way.
The pain he was in.... oh God!! Doctors and Nurses take an oath to do their best and save lives. I ask you now did you do your best for Justin? What was on Telemundo that day was it so interesting that a 19 year old should be forgotten about. Why rush him to faith mediplex after he was gone... una wan shift blame. Autopsy and God don catch una.
#justiceforjustin. BIU we don't want your scholarship we want people brought to book!!! We want change in the way young people are treated and spoken too. We want people's rights respected irrespective of status, name or finances. Does a tragedy have to happen and students to riot before you evaluate the health centre. Do the students have to riot before you call a meeting to investigate the circumstances surrounding a death in the university or realise the HMO is not fit for purpose. Let me right, let me tell d world of the murderous school called Benson Idahosa, let me tell u of the life they let die, let me tell u of d ignorant VC. If u see my post wherever you are, read it and feel my pain, if ur a student of B.I.U, leave d school before u die next, if you a commentator, respect d deceased and type words to honour his name... Look at me I am left with no big brother, this all like a nightmare. But God! I am proud to have a person like him as a brother. He was d most peaceful creature u could find, loved by many....I was named after him, the female version of Yves, so I will fight for him, my voice will scream for him, I will represent him and I will make sure B.I.U regret ever having Justin as their student. Because I regret him coming to that school. One of the most expensive uni in Nigeria, one of d most arrogant school too which doesn't value life. I wish he went to a federal at least then we would know we paid a small amount of money and we would understand, but this I don't get...we paid more than a million for his education and ur school couldn't give him d privilege of coming home a diplomat. Such a sad story!May his soul rest in peace.As we sympathize with the family, the students should show the world what it means to be educated. Nobody has the right to to destroy a private property. After all it was not the school owner that told the nurses to neglect their duty. I will not blame the school for increasing the tuition fees to recover what was lost.The law is not against a peaceful demonstration but the destruction of the private property.

not true.... biu is my alma mata and i spent 5yrs studying law.... there's usually water and electricity (generator if need be).... secondly, they wouldnt have started giving the boy drip if he wasnt examined and his case needing drips.... maybe the nurse on duty might have been negligent in her duties.. but this is no fault of the school and the students who decided to damage the medical facility should be punished... just that stupid act can cause more lives to be lost incase there's an emergency.

May Justin RIP, an investigation should be made before you start pointing accusing fingers on the med staffs,is Justin a sickle cell patient becos I can see his eyes are yellow...so I think it's either he has jaundice or he actually has sickle cell....pple dat knw him should know d answer to this.....I've never liked BiU but something's you just have to open your eyes and see certain things
