President Shehu Shagari visited Buhari today to congratulate him on his
victory at the 2015 presidential election. Buhari overthrew the
democratic government of Shehu Shagari through a coup in December 1983.

Please what has Shagari to forgive Buhari for? Running the country was beyond Shagari. We were descending into anarchy and mob-rule. It was a nation of plunder and disorder. Buhari and his group did the nation a great service. Whatever their mistakes, they worked to lift the country from the gutter. The tragedy of Nigeria is that Babangida's coup succeeded and took us back to disorder and corruption.
