A couple of weeks ago, Banky W
hosted an exclusive premiere of his music film experience in the
Genesis Deluxe Cinemas in Lagos. There, audience members where the first
to see his work as a Director; Banky previewed 3
videos which he wrote and directed while attending the New York Film
Academy. Last night, EME released the 1st of the videos, for a song
called "Mercy". It was shot in NYC and features an
almost-entirely-Nigerian cast of upcoming actors and film students.
The perfect video for the perfect song for the perfect way to start out the year, "Mercy" shows Banky taking the art of story-telling through Music Videos/Film to a whole new level, and it's amazing.

I cried on the inside on behalf of a certain male here in Lagos due to the reality of the lyrics.
You truly need Mercy. You were sent gold 'suddenly' by God. Due to your stubbornness and lack of faith, you treated the gold like gold plated. Didnt know the value till you lost it. You were sent help in forms of several humans to try and put you back on the right path, but you stayed believing that youre the prodigal son who became the chosen one, sampling all the honeys thinking this is the way of life.
You dont have the liver to stand up to the ones ruining your life but rather take your frustrations out on those who were just showing you love. Where are they now? Theyve left you to it.

I've got to say I ain't Banky's biggest fan cos i've always thot he's too full of himself but I gotta give it to him, he's a hell of a performer who constantly trys to improve himself. He sings, he raps which I think he's real good @ cos he killed the song with Jimmy Jatt & Phyno "E Toh Beh! He dances, he does live performances & doesn't just mime to his songs at shows like most artistes do! Now he's directing videos and a brilliant one @ it for a first effort! I salute him, RESPECT.
