South African govt say 67 of its citizens died in Synagogue building collapse

South African president, Jacob Zuma announced today that 67 of its citizens died in the Synagogue building collapse that occurred on September 12th. The South Africans were in Nigeria to seek spiritual help and were staying at the guest house before it collapsed. Read the full statement from President Zuma after the cut...

I am greatly saddened to announce that 67 South Africans died and scores of others sustained injuries, after a building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations collapsed on Friday, 12 September 2014, in Lagos, in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This is a particularly difficult time for South Africa. Not in the recent history of our country have we had this large number of our people die in one incident outside the country. Our thoughts are with the families, friends and colleagues that have lost their loved ones in this heart-breaking tragedy. The whole nation shares the pain of the mothers, fathers, daughters and sons who have lost their loved ones. We are all in grief. As we mourn this sudden and tragic death of our fellow compatriots, I have directed the relevant Government departments and entities to act with the utmost urgency to ensure that we facilitate the movement of relevant family members to Nigeria to identify the bodies of their loved ones and to ensure that we repatriate the remains as soon as possible under the circumstances.
I would like to take this opportunity also to thank all family members and friends who have provided information to Government, which information has assisted the South African High Commission in Nigeria in its efforts to locate our fellow citizens. I would also like to commend all affected families for their patience and resolve during this very painful period. On behalf of the Government and the people of South Africa, I would like to thank the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for their support during this difficult time. We also send our sincere condolences to the people of Nigeria and all other nations affected by this tragedy. I would like to assure all affected families that the Government will provide all the necessary support. Government will keep the public informed of developments around this tragedy. May the souls of the departed compatriots rest in peace. I thank you. Issued by: the Presidency Pretoria

FROM MY REVIEW AND OBSERVATIONS I THINK T.B AND OYAHKILOME HAVEN'T BEEN PAYING THEIR VOW TO THE SPIRITUAL WORLD WHERE THEY ALL GOT THEIR POWER FROM, WHICH IS WHY THE SPIRIT IS ANGRY AND TRYING TO FALL BOTH OF THEM'S HAND...WHY IS IT THE SAME TIME THAT OYAHKILOME IS HAVING TROUBLES IN HIS CHURCH THAT SYNAGOGUE COLLAPSE? IF YOU RECALL VERY WELL, YOU REMEMBER THAT THEY BOTH HAD SOMETHING IN SECRET SOMETIME AGO...THE FACT IS THAT THE GOD WHO GAVE THEM POWER IS ANGRY! SOMETHING IS WRONG SOMEWHERE AND THESE GUYS MUST HAVE CALLED EACH OTHER, CUZ THEY REALLY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING! SO I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF THIS...

But Tb joshua said that there was no death and that the few people trapped were been rescued...Nawaoo Men of God...I believe if the barbaric church members had allowed the press and NEMA to do their work, casualties would have been minimised.
This is man slaughter.!

I said it. Death figures are ALWAYS underestimated in Nigeria. Whatever the 'official' figures are, double it. Trust me, I know.

From Ebola, to Nyanya bombing to Boko Haram to this, so many more die than are reported.

Now SA has another reason to hate Nigerians.

Isn't it ironic that South Africans are seeking spiritual help from Nigerians, while Nigerians are on a loooong queue in the sun at the SA embassy in VI, looking for visa to escape from Nigeria?

Africa, the dark continent indeed!

If SA citizens alone are 67, how many are Nigerians and other nationals? that means we may be talking of upwards of a 100 in total? God have mercy. I hope this discrepancy in figures is only because the rescue mission is still going on and not that someone is covering up for someone.

RIP to the dead.

You are a fool, if you don't know what you are saying don't say it, don't listen to rumours look for fact. Pastor Chris doesn't have any problem he has not lost anybody from his church, family issues are everywhere, Adam suffer it frm eve, beni hills also suffer it same with okotie and many others, Chris and the wife are in good terms now olodo. Tb josua on the other hand did nothing it was a nature, the devil like you is also looking for the Christians to fight is not looking for a sinner like you. Jesus Christ suffer much prosecution than all those people you have measured what about Job if it were to be this day they will say Job is wizard he has use all his children for sacrifice to have loose all his children one day. Anyway I leave the rest for u to find out urself, go and read your bible.

I am one person who does not understand the mindset of people who travel long distances to see 'a man of God'. With all due respect to the dead, this is a lesson for the living. God is EVERYWHERE you are. He hears prayers prayed in your bedroom or parlour or in your heart. YOU DON'T NEED MIRACLES. Jesus said miracles is for babes. It is excruciating to think that some of them who died came for such mundane things like having difficulties with business, marriage, job or a so-called spiritual problem which is in the main very nebulous. Well, the fatalist says what will be will be. The church should stop playing the ostrich game and come up with the full figures of those who died. Down playing the numbers will be only arouse suspicion that they are hiding something. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

Only God can rescue those people, they needed blood n they'v taken.

All I want to say, is Baba o! Ose eh eh! 2x. Keep exposing them my Lord, for it's in your Word Isaiah 57:21 'There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. Psalm 14:1 'The fool says in his heart, There is no God'. Thank you Jesus. Singing praises!

The Lagos state govt. shd not be partial, if it were others they would have arrested the owner of the building. They shd investigate the material been used for the building.

But I believe God is everywhere. Why the hell did they have to go to Nigeria. This is what you get for believing in People and not God. I am sorry, I am South African but I have no sympathy for these kind of people. The tax payers money will have to bring them back for burials now for self inflicted deaths. This is daylight robbery.

Ordinarily TB ought by now to be cooling his heels in police custody pending his trial...
But you know, the Animal Farm syndrome would not allow the proper thing to be done...
If TB were a nobody, the law could have long taken its course on his case....
Well, he is the JUJU man (in clergy garb) of many a Nigerian and foreign big man....
Here is a man you is law unto himself; who secured no government approval before erecting the woe-begotten structure; who breached town planning and environmental laws just to satisfy his fancy of erecting a sky high structure for his teeming foolish devotees...
I am saddened that TB is still walking freely when ordinarily he ought to be facing criminal trial by now!!!!!

How do they stay in South Africa and know the number of South Africans who died in the tragedy. May be 67 South Africans travelled to the Church last week, i don't believe they are all dead. @ those who ask why they travelled to Nigeria for Spiritual help when there is God everywhere, Nigeria is not their first choise to solve their problems, they have been to several churches in their countries and have prayed for years to no avail. T.B. Joshua just happens to have a verifiable track record. He is one of the few in our time anionted to confront hierarchies and problems/sicknessness that have defiled solutions. No body who is working with the power of the devil will confront the devil on live television, because there are different demonic kingdoms and you don't belong to all, one day a demon from a rival kingdom will disgrace you and one will overpower you. It's only with the power of Almighty God that you have the confidence to operate openly on live TV. @ seeking help for mind blowing spiritual problems e.g. every year someone dies in your family, people running mad, diverse sicknesses, and foundational problems that have caused stagnations is nebulous? Pastors & Bishops who don't understand what is happening to them are babes? Do you watch Emmanuel TV to see what they are dealing with? You have not experienced what other people are passing through/ have not needed a miracle so you can afford to blow grammer. May departed souls rest in peace. ......Gloria
