I will say make it meaningful for the lucky winners. 50k for 4 persons makes better sense IMO. Since it's going to be monthly, then more people will get the chance to win. I will only suggest that once a person has won, you find a way of excluding such person from the competition for sometime. It gives others the chance to win.
Meanwhile, do you intend to post the email addresses as the comments come in? As much as this will show transparency in the process, the email addresses could be taken from your site by people who may use them to perpetrate fraud. Just saying.

i think 8 would be better....i don't think its adviceable for one to drop his/her e-mail cuz there exist a lotta scammers out their. #SuggestionDiffers.
