errrr... point of correction - Lupita (love her to bits by the way) isn't the first African to win an Oscar. Charlize Theron from SA won an oscar for Monster some years ago.
I am not even sure why Dencia vex for Lupita. Lupita didn't attack Dencia personally or condemn her cream, she only said someone said wrote her (Lupita) a letter about wanting to use this cream called Whitenicious by Dencia to lighten her skin but changed her mind when she saw Lupita's skin. Lupita also said she could relate because earlier on in her life she had prayed for lighter skin. Dencia just got her panties in a twist for nothing. Whitenicious is not the only complexion-modifying cream out there; the name has shock-value which is probably what Dencia was going for. There really was no need for Dencia's twitter rant - She just came off ratchet beside Lupita. Sometimes we need to think before we react. There has to be a more graceful way to react to criticism (e.g. Rukky's response to Noble).
