I have seen it happen in many parts of Igbo Land.The former way of conducting such marriages was to use the picture of the groom.But some people now use a stand in so that,the wedding does not look solemn.A cousin of mine that is based abroad had his younger brother stand in for him.The father even encouraged the younger to act like the real groom,so that the wedding wouldn't look like a forced marriage.
