Here's something late BBC presenter Komla Dumor posted recently

BBC Focus on Africa presenter Komla Dumor died suddenly in his home in London yesterday Jan. 18th. He was just 41. Here's something he posted on his Facebook page recently...
God has been v good to me.,last year I experienced a lot of illness ..my BP nearly gave me a stroke but I trod on..waking up at 2am and heading to work..exhausted sometimes..aching in my body a soul..mentally and emotionally drained ..but I kept going ..I smiled for the camera..I volunteered for extra shifts ..I showed respect to my colleagues from directors to the security guards..I took a lot of jealousy driven vicious insults and backstabbing  from petty people without reply..I remain silent in my personal strife and misery..I kept smiling and pushing on to present better and to engage w my audience and increase my following.,long days and frustrating times..but I kept going..through the west gate mall coverage through the Mandela funeral..even when illness had me collapsing I delivered..today my boss the head of television called me for a 1 minute meeting..he said Komla we have decided to make you the anchor presenter for our coverage of the World Cup in Brazil ..we shook hands and I left..I looked to the sky and said thank you Lord for reminding me that you are on my side ..the enemy will be scattered..Selah!Selah! Praise Him..tomorrow is another day.
Tomorrow is not promised. Live Your Best Life. Komla sure did! May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

@Anon 4.42pm, ur experiences as an Investment Banker in the UK sound a lot like those of a Nigerian banker particularly in the '90s. So glad I got out! Of what use is money to a dead man?

I really think the world is coming to an end and The Lord has started to take His own...

Don't let's weep for the departed ...rather weep for us who remain in this very sinful world...

Rest in Peace Koma Dumor...

I'm really upset reading this.

He should have taken time off to take care of his health which was in seriously bad shape. But he clearly thought he was doing the right thing.

I have to put the blame on today's gospel climate in Africa. There is so much focus on material success and career promotions. You go to church and Pastor is telling you about Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. This is not christianity.

You trodding on to your high powered job in ill health is not wise at all. Now there is no Brazil. I am so upset because this could probably have been avoided if he'd just chilled out a bit!

Sooo Sad. And now they have pushed him into his grave. This is the typical Capitalist prodding. He thought they loved him, but they were merely after his competence, industry and meekness even in the face of death. He was so naïve, volunteering for extra shifts, waking for office at 2am and trudging on even when his body and soul were complaining. Now, will someone else not cover the World Cup for BBC. A lesson for all employees. So so Sad

Lord knows best- he wanted him to rest and be in a better place.
May His Soul Rest in Peace
It shall be none of our family members or our own portion to die at a young age in the mighty name of Jesus, amen

This Guy was blessed d way he presented. What a sad and early exit for a promising young man!!! Those who became jealous and made side talk and comments probably because he is black, watch it! We are all created by the same God irrespective of color or race! Don't forget also we are just like pencils in the eraser hand of God!!! Adieu Komla, and rest in eternal peace bro.
