President Jonathan undergoes medical check up in London

Presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati has announced that the president is currently undergoing medical check up in the UK but says it's nothing serious. See the State House press release below...
In the course of his on-going visit to London for a meeting of Nigeria’s Honorary International Investors’ Council, President Goodluck Jonathan became indisposed and could not be present at the opening of the meeting today. President Jonathan has since been examined by competent medical practitioners. He has been advised to rest for a few days.
The Presidency wishes to assure all Nigerians that President Jonathan’s condition is nothing serious and that the medical attention he has sought is only precautionary.

I hear u, Mr Abati, but if it is nothing serious, why not do the medical check in Nigeria? Why abroad? Oh! It escaped my mind that in Nigeria, our hospitals are not adequately equipped to cater for our Presidential medical checks.

Do you know how disgraceful that is for a Nigerian president to seek medical attention in the UK! I was brought in the UK, I'm always shouting from the rooftop - proud to be Nigerian. Now this.

This isn't something you should announce or be proud of.

Isn't it funny how nearly every Nigerian President since this democratic dispensation began, has gone to the UK for medical check up?
Isn't it time they developed the healthcare services in Nigeria?
For how long will Public office holders keep traveling abroad for mere check ups when there are hospitals in Nigeria that can be developed to meet the UK standard?
Aren't there Nigerian doctors with enough medical expertise to carry out these "check ups"?
Good health to Mr. President.

The medical team in UK better start looking for evidence of radioactive materials on this man before this man expire.

I don't trust the enemies of this president , especially the ' BORN-TO-RULE-AND-LOOT northerners. They are likely to do anything to get power back because they know without power, they are doomed.

I think it was plutonium that was used to kill ARAFAT.
Putin also uses it to take care of his enemies even inside BRITAIN.
I don't know wether it has antidote though.

Jonathan went for a check up abroad and was found not to be alright and was advised to rest. This is what Abati wrote.
What is difficult to understand in what Abati wrote.

Most teaching hospitals are falling apart today cos Dr are running dem with their egostical life-style

For the second time, while attending and representing Nigeria at an International event, President Goodluck Jonathan has missed the opportunity to do what he went there to do. The first time, the infantile excuse was that he decided to miss the main event and hold a small meeting, with some inconsequential attendees to discuss matters that were not on the main schedule. Issokay, lets pretend we all fell for that and did not hear the rumours that his actual meeting was with Mr Jim Bean, Mr Johnnie Walker ably assisted by Mr Dom Perignon. Now, again, he fails to represent us, a day after celebrating his birthday through the wee hours of the night.....Hmmm, shouldn't we all cut to the chase and to quote Jamie Foxx....

Before throwing shades at the president, you guys should read the exact content of the story. It clearly states that he became 'indisposed in the course of attending a meeting in London'. Hey guys easy on the President, he was on an official duty to London when the Sickness caught up with him, its not like he purposely went for a checkup, even though it might be possible but not in this context, so save your curses for when he actually travels for only checkup, Haba Naija Pple make una pity Presido, he just finished his birthday and probably over ate

Hi Linda, am new on your blog and I really love what u r doing. I ve taken time to read d comments on Mr president's check up in London.
I am a doctor in Nigeria, but on course USA, I can tell u THREE BIG reasons why Nigerians go abroad for medical help. one is our unequipped hospitals, health policies and the way we doctors practice in Nija. if u allow me, I will be posting comments to explain these 3 points. 2 yrs ago I wanted to resign from my organization bcos I was humiliated just bcos of the ways I practiced medicine, I continued that way though, now within 2013 alone, I have worn five Awards for same reasons. Thank you.

Those of you defending him are the dull ones. So you really believe he fell ill while in London? I am not stupid enough to believe that story. He was sick before he left Nigeria and had this medical check up pre planned. Gullible people
