Renowned Lagos based make-up artist and CEO of Ewar
Make-Over, Adenike Ogungbe, has passed away. Nike died this afternoon in a hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun State just a day after giving birth. She gave birth early Tuesday morning, fell into
a coma (she actually never came out of the anesthesia given to her) and died this afternoon. Her baby is fine and healthy. Nike's last Tweet below.
Nike was only 31 and is survived by a husband and her new born baby girl. Truly sad. May her soul rest in peace..Amen.
Meanwhile, I’m going to be MIA for at least 24 hours. I’m
going to see JFK. :-)
God bless you and keep you and yours. Cheers.

This will probably not be read but i agree with the anon comment about posting your travel plans and announcing a news like this. it's very disrespectful. and the smiley face just made it worse..
May her soul rest in perfect peace
as much as i'm not here to hold brief for any doctor, @seun london, u were probably born here and u did not die, several thousands of cs are done everyday in the country and people dont die!! some people dont take anaesthesia well, you dont even know what happened pre, intra or post op, and u just wanna open your mouth and cast aspersions... grow up. if you are truly in london, u will know that people die from surgeries and anaesthesia. plus Nigerian doctors always do well abroad!!
Linda; money miss road and classless woman. You will never change. Bush girl.
@kurukere, you people just stay wherever as cleaners and yarn balls!! who says they dont do general anaesthesia abroad? in nigeria here, the predominant type of anaesthesia for cs, 100 % of the time in secondary and tertiary centres is spinal. that maternal mortality figure happens with people who deliver with traditional birth attendants and those who deliver at home and in churches,Nigerian hospitals are not a death trap!! * u can get back to ur toilet cleaning job now*
Quite inconsiderate of you, Linda, posting vacay news with a smiley face.
Linda don't u have anoda news to give us today?
Just saw u in my airport Miss Linda u looked real tired have some rest and welcome back:)
women, please and please. D & C seems the way out and best option for most lazy women out there that their mother actually pushed out. God says we shall give birth like the hebrew women, even some of our mother can push all by themselves. May God keep us oo. May her soul rest in peace
,ay her soul rest in perfect peace

This is another case of unwarranted maternal death. if a person like Adenike can die from childbirth, it means that many women in Nigeria continuue to be at risk. And yet - this is a social problem that our governments have refused to address. Despite all the noise being made that Lagos is working under Fashola, i am one of those not convinced. He should address human rights and social justice issues such as women that still die from childbirth in Lagos state. Lagos has one of the poorest access to equitable evidence-based maternal health in the world. The economy of Lagos is bigger than that of a country like Kenya - yet, citizens in Lagos have limited access to basic social amenities. Unless issues such as maternal deaths are addressed in Lagos, Fashola would soon be forgotten as a governor who ever worked in lagos. because some of the things he is focussing on will not be remembered 5 years after he leaves office. But if he focusses on human living indicators - education, health, women empowerment and the delivery of humanness to his citizens - he will be remembered for all time. This is not just the case for Lagos, but for all states of the country as well as our visionless Federal government. To be forewarned is to be forearmed!!!!!
John f. Kennedy... dts d U.S airport.
Why was she taken to a hospital in Sagamu knowing her condition? I am demanding justice for Adenike from the family. This would not bring her back but the truth will be exposed and such similar occurrence can be prevented in the future. Rest in Peace
She lived in Lagos, why was she taken a hospital in Sagamu with no medical facilities??
I hope it has nothing to do with MALAIKA.....one funny church she and her family attends in mushin..... Rip
Anon July 4, 2013 at 11:52 PM; D and C? Stay ignorant.
The best option for lazy women. Keep staying ignorant. If you know nothing about the medical field shut the fuck up.
Olodo, were u told that she gave birth in lagos before u start typing like a moron. At times, some ladies cause the outcome of their deliveries. When they are told to have c sections to deliver their babies, they begin to cast and bind until it gets too late and suddenly everyone turns round and blames it on d hospital. Just FYI, i dont reside in lagos neither am i a doctor. Ive seen ladies refuse cs and ive lost a friend through that. Im a mother of 2 and had both kids through csection in a hospital in lagos and tws a blessed moment for me. Do not think about what your country will do for u, seek to do something for your country.
Biodun Frank, stop trolling. Liar. What interview?
The worst death a woman can ever experience......after carrying a child for nine months, make up the baby room, buy child's stuffs.... And wait to hold ur joy in ur arms.......and then.....death! Help us o lord! Being a woman can sometimes be sooooo hard... Prayer will do it....
Linda is in Dallas for an event tonight with flavour and Mr. Ibu...OSHEEE!
Rest in perfect peace Nike.....We love u but Jesus loves u more. Sun re o

A pregnant woman should not be put to sleep for no reason. This is my first time of hearing this kind of gist. RIP my dear! You was in a wrong country at the wrong time.
