This woman is a VICTIM irrespective of how she might be blamed for finding herself in the guys apartment in the first place. As long as there is no mutual consent, it is a violation of her body, power, mind and spirit. Even in a marriage it can occur ( spousal rape). In my research on this issue( gang rape especially), Men and/or women who engage in such a heinous crime first discard their conscience by dehumanizing the victim and mentally turning the victim into mere objects. In their mind, the victim is being punished for whatever reason they can come up with( dressing seductively, straying away from defined sex/cultural roles, being ugly, being beautiful,having a voice, having too much/too little confidence, being in an upper or lower social class, etc). In commiting this babaric crime, they gain the respect of their peers( fellow accomplices). Please women and men( yes! there are male victims too) be carefull, Our culture is fast evolving into one where women are becoming independent and stepping into male roles both politically, in the business world, socially, educationally, and in the family. So men who were brought up as misogynistic and who are still very determined in holding on to that ideology are refusing to come to terms with it(e.g Indian culture). Hence, why they seek to establish their manliness through the act of raping. Please NOT ALL MEN ARE LIKE THIS but until some mentally twisted men face the fact that women are not inferior to them will there be some meaningful change. This is just "one" of the main reasons why this occurs. There are other reasons. Rape is hardly ever about the sexual act itself.
