Michael says... The reason is after escaping police check points on the railway every 10 minutes, Armed robbers will put a log on the railway to stop the train and then rob everyone
With the ways our youths act and behave these days, it will take a complete desensitization before we experience this kind of beautiful life again.1936,life was so beautiful in that beautiful land called Nigeria. Sometimes I feel that we Africans just don't get it.The white man is not stupid after all. I live in europe, travel by rail to all the EU....What a beauty to behold. In Nigeria, bad leadership,inter-tribal and religious dichotomy and corruption would never allow our leaders to do the right thing. They just don't want to do the right thing. Unfortunately,we are all going to end up in the same pit of hell called Nigeria. What a shame!!! God has indeed left Africa!
Sad that Nigeria was a better country when Whites were in control, yes they did leave us in a turmoil when they left but after 50 plus years since their rule, it's time for Blacks to stand up with Love, respect, dedication and hard-work to reclaim back life for every one and not for the 0.01 percent of the rich. It is truly sad when their is more effort towards greed than there is to loan a helping hand. Nigeria is a DISASTER and hope it doesn't take a Disastrous event to turn things around
That was when the land was GREEN!When patriotism was the order of the day. That was the last generation who played in the street......the generation that walked over a mile with no worries of being kidnapped....the generation that learned how to program the VCR before anyone else..the generation of Tom and Jerry,......the generation that travelled in cars without seat belts or airbags, lived without cellphones, did not have flat screens, sorround systems, ipods,Blackberries,Facebook,Twitter,Computers or the internet....the generation that ate healthy from the harvests of the soil, the generation that watched after their communities and protected that which belong to them, the generation where women were the pride of their husbands, the generation that wasn't corrupt, believed in honor, hard-work and diligence....That is the generation that I long for.....Will I be able to see it in my lifetime, I hope and pray but from what I see today,it's obvious that JEHOHA has left Naija.
Our truck businessmen won't allow it work! You won make dem come back to village ? And the civil servants make way for them as well,a lot go down you know!
I agree wit u. Greed n corruption r still killing us. We can do gr8 thns if we jst av sensitive leaders n ppl too. Too many factors workn against d progress of Nig.
white people dont care what people will think or say, nigerian women think of people's talk and how the divorce will affect thier children. #justmythots#
The railway worked well into the 1970s and early 1980s. My grandfather worked there his whole life and retired in the early 1980s, my mum and her siblings are railways kids, so many great memories. I rode the train once in primary schl in the latter part of the 80s, an excursion, from Lagos to Ibadan, it was a good experience. So its not as far ago as people think.
If God has left Naija , it wud have crumbled on ur head... God is still in d business called Nigeria... That aside so u long for a generatn without Computers and facebook then what are u doing here wif us???
Hi Linda, i'm a huge fan and this is the first time ever i'd drop a comment... (just my humble 2cents).. i think you should add "like & dislike" icons to the comments like its done on yahoo. that said, keep up the good job babes!
So picturesque! You expect a country to get better with age but look at Nigeria! When I went to Dubai, I was amazed at what they had achieved in such a short period of time. There is so much mismanagement of funds in Nigeria!
Appreciate your spouse this week; it's the Celebration of Marriage Week!
9ja is dead simply cos of selfish leaders and wealthy Nigerians. Do u know some pple gain for the under development of 9ja likes of dangote dey would not never allow railway to function in 9ja cos its bad business for them. Same goes to PHCN to prevent investors from coming into 9ja which would bring more competition for big companies .corruption has eaten the soul of the nation its in every sector, even in our homes. Revolution won't even help to solve it,make we just divide no more 9ja
