Russian Olympic medalists all get luxury cars from their government

Each of the 129 Russians who won medals in individual or team events at the 2012 London Olympics have all received personalized Audis from the Russian government, with different models for gold, silver and bronze winners. Gold medalists got the Audi A8, Silver medalists - Audi A7 and Audi A6 for Bronze winners. Not only that, all the medalists were given state honors by President Vladimir Putin in a ceremony that held at the Kremlin on Wednesday.

Atleast their ecomony has bounced back, courtesy of their natural gas, and they also manufacture cars. In Nigeria we cannot even manufature tookpick.

@ August 18, 2012 12:21 PM...u must beef. U think ur sounding rational...are you putting more effort into solving the poverty issues in russia more than the russian govt? They rewarded their youths who made them proud and ur here talking shit. Tufiakwa...

Those Nigerian that won Gold medals many years ago are yet to get their gift. Government of Nigeria are yet to fulfill their promises to the winners. Promise of land and cars, none came to pass. yeye government

And they say Europe is in debt!

First of, its a very good incentive but let's stop comparing our atheletes and governemnt to the russians. If the Nigerian Gov't had given such incentives to our atheletes(that is if they had performed well), we would have been chanting "wasteful Government" and if they got nothing we would still complain, so please let's just leave things as they are. What has happened as happened.

All these people leave comments without even thinking. Russians are suffering oooo!!! Maybe not as bad as Nigerians but come on! Why not give them a house, the value of cars depreciates every , every day, etc.
But its still a nice gift sha

Better nation and a responsible president. I love rusia.

Vladamir putin you are still my best european strong man. Protect your country well. I love your style

Nigerians! America who is much richer and more powerful than Russia, gives its athletes a presidential handshake and reception. Russia is not accountable to anyone. Nigerians are so gullible.
