Nigerian basketball team win first Olympic game

The Nigerian basketball team this morning won their first game at the 2012 London Olympics, making the basketball team the first in Nigerian sporting history to win a basketball match at the Olympics.

They beat Tunisia 60-56 and need just one more win to get through to the next round. Go team Nigeria!

Sports is d only thing dat unites us! If I were d nigerian president, half of dat security budget should go to d development and setting of d right environment for private sector to run and blossom d sector! A boko haram member can watch football with a Christian ! But once d game ends he starts oiling his bombs again!! Solution: keep d game running and active all d time

It wasn't an easy game! That boy Aminu number 7 gave me lots of hypertension, missing free throws and falling when he had the ball with no one in front of him!!! They had a good lead then the game came down to 2 points difference with only 20 seconds left! They try sha! USA will show them pepper!

Linda, pls post my comments. Nigeria has won lots of matches at the Olympics. This is not the first one. They won the gold medal for football during the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta 1996. They have won several qualifying matches and were semi-finalists in football at the '08 olympics. Pls let pple know. Nigeria is trying in sports.

We just need good government in Naija to help divert peoples anger to fortune for the nation. Why can't we have youth camps that help nurture and develop kids from their early age in a particular sport like others? Just cos those fools love keeping huge bucks for themselves...I still can't bliv we never have Olympic swimmers!!!

I wish them the best. This is the beginning, and I pray they make it to the end.

Go Team Nigeria!!!!
