Instead of the video for now, I'm going to show you guys stills from the CCTV footage. The lady was in the store for almost an hour and at some points her face clearly shows on camera...but I'll leave her face out of this for now, and just show you how she stole from me...please continue....
While I'm trying out shoes, she pretends to be checking out dresses
She picks up a long dress and walks back to the chair as I walk away to check out more shoes
Here you see her standing in front of my bag and peering into it (there's a brown envelope inside my black bag)
While I'm trying out shoes, she's peering into my bag to see where exactly my phone is at
Then as I walk away, she covers my bag with the dress she's holding
She sits down and covers the bag with a second dress she's pretending to check out
And when no one's looking, she puts her hand beneath the clothes to remove my phone from my bag
She places the phone on the chair, just in case I come back and start looking for my phone
After picking up my bag, I chat with her briefly not knowing she'd stolen from me
I speak with the sales girls briefly before leaving
Here I am walking out of the store with my sis, Laura, walking in front of me
Immediately I leave, she picks up the phone from the chair and puts it in her bag
Then writes down her fake name and number
And runs out of the store.

Meanwhile I got a mail from another person who encountered this thief that same day. Read it below...
Hi linda,I was in a state of shock when I read your experience on saturday, I had the same experience that same day.
I actually saw u on saturday walking in to mobos when I was walking out of mobos with my kids. I came into the shop holding my wallet in my hand and dropped my stuffs on one of the chairs as I wanted to try a dress. I came out and some of my friend met up with me and I was a bit distracted. Thank God I decided to pay for my dress because that was when I realised my wallet was gone. My saving grace was I was too sure I held my wallet in my hand and the only person that came in was this same female customer who was now sitting on the next chair.
I started yelling for my wallet and scattering every where because I knew it could only be missing there. I then looked at her and asked if she saw it and she said no. I was like ok pls get up let me check your seat just incase I left it, and linda u wouldn't believe that she was sitting on the wallet and just behaved like she didn't notice.
So this same lady was the one I left in the shop when u were walking in and I was going out. Wonderful!!! So basically she is a thief. That's what she was there for, to steal.
Please make sure you publish this video, because this person needs to be exposed. She was like a babe, came in trying cloths. I and my friends where even giving her advice on what to buy.
Expose her please because if you don't, me I will take the case up.

Though i agree with some of what you said,and I agree linda should post the video but please dont be fooled into thinking London/England is different. You were just LUCKY! Is it this same london that people will put their hands in your bag while you are walking on the streets, on the train or the bus....yes!!! With all the cctv present everywhere. Sorry for what happened to you dear. But let me echo what a wise man once said "evil triumphs when good men keep quiet"! My thoughts:
1. Linda, if tomorrow this same girl advances in this line to become an armed robber or an assasin, she comes to your house to rob and kill and you recognise her, what will you do? (Just answer quietly)
2. Your mother is wise to say don't upload it yet. In my opinion, people are very angry at the moment and if someone recognises her, dem go give her jungle justice (petrol and tyre - I'm sure you know what I mean).
3. The best thing to do is to take the footage to THE POLICE before you do anything. If the Police doesn't do anything about it, then you know you've done your bit to fight crime.
4. Lastly, I know how you feel being robbed and all, but in the end think of the key action you can take to ensure this girl is helped. We need to start of reformation rather than punishment all the time.

They cannot hire one person to sit there all day to watch tv. Usually the people that work in the store try to keep an eye on it in between doing their regular duties. They can always rewind and watch what happened live!
The mall should have a billboard where they post pictures of petty criminals kinda like a crime's watch board. If the mall has this then the store can provide a picture of this very experienced criminal to be posted there.

This just happened! I work in a bank in Asaba. Using my computer on the marketing floor, wasnt paying much attention as to what was going on around me but noticed this fine looking woman, properly dressed sitting on customers chair at a colleagues desk. My first notion was of her seeking financial advise. Next thing I noticed was how the kitchen lady was telling one of my colleagues what just happened. Apparently, the lady gingerly went to sit on a chair in an enclosed area and the kitchen lady's phone (Nokia Touch light) was there also. Luckily for the kitchen lady, she realised she had to check the time on her phone which prompted her to look for the phone. Approaching the lady still sitted on the chair, she said "would you be kind enough to move a lil bit, im looking for my phone", then the thief knowing theres no way she would get away with it said "oh im sorry" reaching for the phone in her bag. The kitchen lady said she was in shock, and in that state, the thief gallantly worked away. Mehn, im so weary of beautiful looking girls mehn!!!

I was in this situation exactly 25 days ago. I work in a small firm, and earn a little below
100k, I saved up my money and decided to spoil myself by buying a new bold 4 as i have been
using a curve 2 for over a year and the phone was due for changing.
April 30th, 3 days after purchase of my phone, i got a warning letter from work,2nd warning letter and
decided to see a friend and tell him about the situation.
After seeing my friend, i take a bike from Adeniran Ogunsanya to my house.
During this short trip, the bike develops 3 faults and the 4th fault happened on Masha Bridge, by this time
its 9:30pm. Out of my eagerness to go home, the bike man asks me to shine my fone light to enable him fix some loose nuts.
I sensed danger and declined initially but on looking at my watch, i decided to and then , he says he cant see the other side of the bike.
Sheepishly, i handed over my phone to him to fix the damn nut so i can go home, he mounts on his bike and speeds off leaving me to walk down the bridge...........
i watched him speed off with my phone.My bold 4 is history now. U feel violated when something is taken from you no matter how small.
It hurt because it wasnt free money i used to buy it, it hurt because the next day was May day and i couldnt connect with anybody, It hurt because i was yet to install BB Protect on my phone.
God consoled me becuase i got a received an email the following day for a new job.I can understand how Linda feels , but follow your heart.

Well, Linda I would like to ask what ur intention is regarding this case. Is it to have ur phone back or to bring the culprit to book? If it is to have ur phone back, sorry that may be long gone. However if it is to catch & bring the culprit to book, then report the case to the right authority I.e POLICE. Let them handle it. Perhaps the management might end up paying u damages and u may be surprised that there might be an inside cohort among the staff. But believe, sooner or later, she would be brought to book. Some of those who left comments say they live in the UK, I too live in the UK and know not to leave personal effects unattended; as they will definitely get stolen! We even have pick pockets running around in Central London Depending on the part of London you live, cars are broken into on a daily basis even though we've got CCTV everywhere!
