the accompanying article by President Sirleaf Johnson is ''arrant nonsense''!

Lived in Bayelsa during GEJ's tenure and contrary to what 'Presidential Praise singer' Sirleaf terms ''the dexterity he demonstrated...same ability to find remedies...'' I can only remember the ''Ghana-must-go'' bags that moved around in the name of paying ransom for kidnapped foreigners.
The old mama should focus on uplifting her country and leave Reuben's job for him. or is this an early application for a posr-presidency job?

Linda am higly disappointed at you for praising GEJ, now I know the type of person you are, the main activitists like Omojuwa,Mercy Abang and Rosanwo are all over twitter condemning the award so as to keep GEJ on his feet and make him know he is doing nothing right yet you are praising him so he would feel like he is doing things well... Pls b d voice of the people you are making money out of!!!!!!

Okay we get it. GEJ is in the same pool of "most influential people in the world" as chefs, actors, basketball players, football quarterback and et al. SMH.

When he makes the same list as presidents of other countries, then he should put out a press release.

    Anonymous said...

LMFAO!! GEJ doesnt know the only reason he is on that list is cos of de population of NAIJA and his act of yarning nonsense.

Well at least his name appears together with that of the Obamas, Merckels and Netanyanhus etc. Congratulations GEJ for whatever this is worth.

But then I wonder what all this translates to as far as Naija is concerned. Who voted him?, where did they come from? Why did they vote him as an influential person globally?

Lotsa questions only so that we are not left with sour grapes in our mouth at the end of the day because someone decided to be polite to us by voting GEJ just to make us feel good. Don't know.

On the other hand it could just be with the hard stance Nigeria's taken over any coup plot in our sub-region in Africa. We have been quite influential. But as for locally I wonder if it was considered cause Boko Haram for reduce his votes sha.

Once again Sir, Congrats to you, for all it's worth I dare say.

Okay, haters, your call now. Over to y'all. Blast away. My ears are muffled and eyes won't read ur strikes!

NYC-1 says: This is why we will continue to be puppets. 92% of Nigerians you rule live barely on $1.00 per day, lanquishing in abject poverty due to corruption, and dysfuctional government, and you feel humbled to be among Times 100 must influential people in the world. I hope this LOBBY will not carry you away; I hope you will not sell our farms to them - because they will be coming for a business deal;and, they know how to play on our intelligence.

Very soon Nigeria Newspapers will bombard their pages with congratulatory messages; GEJ 'yes men' will also make noise about this. Whatever happens, know that the "unexamined life, is not worth living." examine the facts on ground and know if you really deserve this recognition. Show the nation the tax you paid this year, and how much you contributed to charity for the year. This is what democratic values stands for. Others that made the list can boast that they have disclose their income for the year. Show the nation your tax return; your contemproraries have done that.

Utter gobshite! (TIME/Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's article ). Petty president. What a shame.

This article is serious BULLCRAP!!! Goodluck Johnathan is yet to handle boko haram or do anything significant to make the lives of Nigerians better! He hasn’t influenced me in any way whatsoEVER!!! I should be proud to have the president of our country on this list but unfortunately i am more angered than proud! Most of the people on this list should not be there! this na my own 2cents! Long HISS!

    Lola said...

Nonsense - The Times Magazine Editor came on CNN today to discuss the list and why certain people were chosen. just the way people of somewhat positive influence like president Obama are on the list so are the names of people of negative influence - like the Syrian president who's currently committing Genocide on his people.

Please o!! 100 Most "Influential" in the Time Mag list doesn't mean positive or a good thing - it just means you have an impact on certain people and its worth noting.. Honour my ass.. such a dumb as president we have, cant believe he/his camp actually released a statement.

He needs to go hide under a rock!!

    Anonymous said...

See mumu man....FYI the Syrian president's name is there too and he has been busy killing his people....'influential' doesn't mean 'doing well' they go by so many factors in determining who to add on including how much you have been in the news, wether for good or bad, so make preside never dance alanta yet o!

    Anonymous said...

    dis list is fucked

    Anonymous said...

What is the big deal in making the list, what has he done to warrant the list or the criteria for his inclusion? GEJ is just their errand President like most of the president around the globe whereby if u want to be famous, u just have to dance to their tune like the way they were using Saddam Hussein to fight against iran and taliban against Russia and the moment they turned their back against them, they were declared a terrorist, oppressor etc.

    Make we hear word jorrrrrrrrr!

    Mama somtee said...

All in a desperate bid for 2015 abi , if you are so serious all you need to do is create an enabling environment for that , Constant electricity , good roads ,secure the country from the insurgence of Boko haram, and be sincere about your fight against corruption, at least let Efcc work .
When all this is in place , you would not need to waste money laundering your image , Nigerians would insist you get another time , but as it is now , except you decide to rig elections as usual all is a waste of time.

NYC-1 says: I hope "concern citizen" will kiss my foot.

When you play hardball, play it with fun, not with intimidation. Criticism should be viewed as a wake-up call to improve.

For those already shouting congratulation, I hope you will continue to shout congratulation to every frivolous achievement.

    MY VIEW said...

Congratulations Mr President! There are lots of jobs yet to be done in Nigeria. I hope you will keep the ball rolling. It can only get better. A little goes a long way.Rome was not built in a day.Next project,non-stop electricity, while fighting corruption.
Hope you will work with the judiciary to figure out ways of enforcing laws in Nigeria. Lawlessness is one of the major reasons our country is not reaching it's well deserved potentials.

It is appalling that with the high rate of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy in Nigeria, Time Magazine could frame up all this nonsense to say about a President that could be likened to a mere waste of space and a bone in the throats of most Nigerians. I have lost all respect and regard for the magazine and the author of the article needs to check into a psychiatric hospital to be cured of his/her delusions.Even worse is the nerve of GEJ to "thank" Nigerians for their support...i'd like to ask him this ..."support for what?? making fun of your wife's grammatical blunders ? because on a list of your "achievements" we can all agree that your wife has given us reasons to smile and laugh amid the backwardness of your governance. If only that was the criteria for being listed among the worlds most influential, then i'd say the article was spot on. Nonsense and ingredient.

If you're such an anti-GEJ activist, kindly take yourself to Aso rock and confront him yourself. Not that i like the man too and i think he deserves this praise as much as the devil deserves to be in heaven but if you had read the post properly, then you'll know Linda was jes foolin around with him.

    Daniel Akobi said...

TIME 100, like the editors of the magazine do say isn't an endoresment or an award but a compilation of people who make news in a spectacular manner in a given period, usually a peer, e.g, a fellow president is asked to write something about a nominee, which Ellen Johnson Sirleaf did for GEj. Considering the manner Jonathan became Nigeria's President and the influence a Nigerian President wields it's just normal that he makes that list before the end of his Presidency. Ironically that he is the first Nigerian President to be confronted with Islamic terrorism has also contributed in why he made the list.

The fact remains that he is the president of the third fastest growing economy and the leader of the most populous black nation. That alone is enough to get him to number 20. That said, i wonder what criteria they used in this ranking. Imagine giving Obama number 61! Do you know how influential that guy really is! All the bombs at his disposal!

I wonder how easy it will be for GEJ to turn himself into all the members of the armed forces so he can quell the boko haram menace. I think that if i try real hard i'll forget all the good things that have happened in his tenure. -just thinking out loud-
