The person that wrote about him has definitely chopped money
Or perhaps the person's 5 senses are all faulty
Congrats Sir! Please deliver as promised! God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
Am i first?
Shows how nuch they know and how misguided they are... No beef just saying the fact. This will fool him to thinking he is doing something right when we all know he hasn't done anything to improve or influence the lives of nigerians positively
How is he influential? Someone that cannot stop Bombing attacks in the country. People have lost their use of vocabulary. Influential my foot
nice, i like this,,,
Pipa Middleton and GEJ? Smh! Pls what is the crteria biko??? Koz I dnt get it..hiss!
the accompanying article by President Sirleaf Johnson is ''arrant nonsense''!
Lived in Bayelsa during GEJ's tenure and contrary to what 'Presidential Praise singer' Sirleaf terms ''the dexterity he demonstrated...same ability to find remedies...'' I can only remember the ''Ghana-must-go'' bags that moved around in the name of paying ransom for kidnapped foreigners.
The old mama should focus on uplifting her country and leave Reuben's job for him. or is this an early application for a posr-presidency job?
Bullshit
Linda am higly disappointed at you for praising GEJ, now I know the type of person you are, the main activitists like Omojuwa,Mercy Abang and Rosanwo are all over twitter condemning the award so as to keep GEJ on his feet and make him know he is doing nothing right yet you are praising him so he would feel like he is doing things well... Pls b d voice of the people you are making money out of!!!!!!
Who did Ebele pay for this because he is not worthy of this honor.
linda dont be congratulating this thief and stupid leader. what the hell has he done since he entered office, nothing, but increase hardship and help squander funds.Time magazine you are a disgrace for including this idiot, liberian president sirleaf, i used to respect you, but now you have lost my respect, as i am sure you too are stealing from your people. this shows how american and western nations wants to keep seeing us, as beggars in our own wealthy country.
So? Is Nigeria not also the world's third fastest growing economy?
STORY STORY...STORY.why won't he be happy? TIME magazine and forbes and all them rich men magazine, na the same IMF, Multinationals, and World Bank that controls them. as long as you listen to them and do as they say (keep borrowing and paying bak debts with interest as ur country remains in turmoil), they'll try and get ur name on the list. rubbish! influential for what? abeg go and sit down.
Hmmm... that's cool but I'm a lil' surprised... The credits are incredible hoha!
So how does that stop d daily bombing of innocent citizen and he even have the gut to write dat rubish, well i don't blame him na cos BH neva bomb one of his close relation na dat tin his eyes go clear
Okay we get it. GEJ is in the same pool of "most influential people in the world" as chefs, actors, basketball players, football quarterback and et al. SMH.
When he makes the same list as presidents of other countries, then he should put out a press release.
LMFAO!! GEJ doesnt know the only reason he is on that list is cos of de population of NAIJA and his act of yarning nonsense.
Chai see my president with his long wish list. As if na today yansh done dey for back. All we kip hearing is grammer with nothing to show for it. We done see u now dat u are influential thanks †Ơ̴̴͡ d negative & cheap populariy fuel subsidy removal gave U̶̲̥̅̊. Next jawe
Oh my bad. Another president is on the list.
God knowing u is wat really matters
Well at least his name appears together with that of the Obamas, Merckels and Netanyanhus etc. Congratulations GEJ for whatever this is worth.
But then I wonder what all this translates to as far as Naija is concerned. Who voted him?, where did they come from? Why did they vote him as an influential person globally?
Lotsa questions only so that we are not left with sour grapes in our mouth at the end of the day because someone decided to be polite to us by voting GEJ just to make us feel good. Don't know.
On the other hand it could just be with the hard stance Nigeria's taken over any coup plot in our sub-region in Africa. We have been quite influential. But as for locally I wonder if it was considered cause Boko Haram for reduce his votes sha.
Once again Sir, Congrats to you, for all it's worth I dare say.
Okay, haters, your call now. Over to y'all. Blast away. My ears are muffled and eyes won't read ur strikes!
How now??? Na wa
Great achiever.
NYC-1 says: This is why we will continue to be puppets. 92% of Nigerians you rule live barely on $1.00 per day, lanquishing in abject poverty due to corruption, and dysfuctional government, and you feel humbled to be among Times 100 must influential people in the world. I hope this LOBBY will not carry you away; I hope you will not sell our farms to them - because they will be coming for a business deal;and, they know how to play on our intelligence.
Very soon Nigeria Newspapers will bombard their pages with congratulatory messages; GEJ 'yes men' will also make noise about this. Whatever happens, know that the "unexamined life, is not worth living." examine the facts on ground and know if you really deserve this recognition. Show the nation the tax you paid this year, and how much you contributed to charity for the year. This is what democratic values stands for. Others that made the list can boast that they have disclose their income for the year. Show the nation your tax return; your contemproraries have done that.
@ presido congrat but the ting be say boko still day dear and also youths are not smiling, liberian day gain from naija abey after una go say naija is going broke, anyway shaa me knw say all that one na scam, congrat all the same, Gej do more abeg u too calm and slow
I totally agree with you Anonymous April 18, 2012 10:15pm. Please, they should review the list again cos GEJ doesn't deserve it at all. Nonsense!!!!!
Utter gobshite! (TIME/Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's article ). Petty president. What a shame.
This article is serious BULLCRAP!!! Goodluck Johnathan is yet to handle boko haram or do anything significant to make the lives of Nigerians better! He hasn’t influenced me in any way whatsoEVER!!! I should be proud to have the president of our country on this list but unfortunately i am more angered than proud! Most of the people on this list should not be there! this na my own 2cents! Long HISS!
Nonsense - The Times Magazine Editor came on CNN today to discuss the list and why certain people were chosen. just the way people of somewhat positive influence like president Obama are on the list so are the names of people of negative influence - like the Syrian president who's currently committing Genocide on his people.
Please o!! 100 Most "Influential" in the Time Mag list doesn't mean positive or a good thing - it just means you have an impact on certain people and its worth noting.. Honour my ass.. such a dumb as president we have, cant believe he/his camp actually released a statement.
He needs to go hide under a rock!!
See mumu man....FYI the Syrian president's name is there too and he has been busy killing his people....'influential' doesn't mean 'doing well' they go by so many factors in determining who to add on including how much you have been in the news, wether for good or bad, so make preside never dance alanta yet o!
dis list is fucked
What is the big deal in making the list, what has he done to warrant the list or the criteria for his inclusion? GEJ is just their errand President like most of the president around the globe whereby if u want to be famous, u just have to dance to their tune like the way they were using Saddam Hussein to fight against iran and taliban against Russia and the moment they turned their back against them, they were declared a terrorist, oppressor etc.
Make we hear word jorrrrrrrrr!
All in a desperate bid for 2015 abi , if you are so serious all you need to do is create an enabling environment for that , Constant electricity , good roads ,secure the country from the insurgence of Boko haram, and be sincere about your fight against corruption, at least let Efcc work .
When all this is in place , you would not need to waste money laundering your image , Nigerians would insist you get another time , but as it is now , except you decide to rig elections as usual all is a waste of time.
NYC-1 says: I hope "concern citizen" will kiss my foot.
When you play hardball, play it with fun, not with intimidation. Criticism should be viewed as a wake-up call to improve.
For those already shouting congratulation, I hope you will continue to shout congratulation to every frivolous achievement.
Congratulations Mr President! There are lots of jobs yet to be done in Nigeria. I hope you will keep the ball rolling. It can only get better. A little goes a long way.Rome was not built in a day.Next project,non-stop electricity, while fighting corruption.
Hope you will work with the judiciary to figure out ways of enforcing laws in Nigeria. Lawlessness is one of the major reasons our country is not reaching it's well deserved potentials.
linda ,,with what i has just read from joy boy,,,i think he has a vision and mision ,but he got alots of strange men or guys beside him,,,men or stranges things fly u know?they can visit u without any invitation,,,,jona is still a boy in there kingdom,,,obyyy easy ooooo..no power past the blood of jesus christ,,,u hearrrr?
U shld b patient while reading articles! Dere's an undertone on mockery in Linda's comment...ode
influential for what exactly?
the top skincare products now available at www.thestunninglady.blogspot.com
Order now!
Influential my foot.how he no go dey influential when I now spend double to fuel my car, walk the street with the fear of not been blown up by BH and virtually everything is now at least 200percent expensive...You 'influence' my life mehn
Linda,
Time Magazine once hailed Charles Taylor as a Liberator. Only to turn around an lampoon him years later.
Dont worry we have seen these things
Choi Pls what's the acc no so I can also pay for a slot.
i actually tot Linda was yabbing him, as per the YIMZ that she added. tot YIMZ is anoda form of YIMU!!
Anyway, GEJ jazz still dey work, nawaa oo, influential ko, 100 ni
Who cares? I wouldn't make shakara if I was number 100 though....see people like rhi rhi dey make top ten....even almajiri boko haram pple made the list before GEJ and he's happy...now I know the man is really a fool. Abeg Linda no dey bring this man story come here. Its irritating.
Do not be deceived Goodie.....
who told you the influence they are writing abt is of good.
It is appalling that with the high rate of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy in Nigeria, Time Magazine could frame up all this nonsense to say about a President that could be likened to a mere waste of space and a bone in the throats of most Nigerians. I have lost all respect and regard for the magazine and the author of the article needs to check into a psychiatric hospital to be cured of his/her delusions.Even worse is the nerve of GEJ to "thank" Nigerians for their support...i'd like to ask him this ..."support for what?? making fun of your wife's grammatical blunders ? because on a list of your "achievements" we can all agree that your wife has given us reasons to smile and laugh amid the backwardness of your governance. If only that was the criteria for being listed among the worlds most influential, then i'd say the article was spot on. Nonsense and ingredient.
Com on guys!GEJ is trying we all expect him to b perfect n do as we think but Govt is far beyond that even if it is only Ibori and his Family n lawyer his Govt allow them to b Jail its kudos and with all the probe PPF, SUBSIDY etc a lot of money has been recoverd trust me many will go down u guys just watch out if u hv been to Lagos Benin road u will c one thing we should know is he hear he listen
Maybe they are talking about the "not good" influence in his case. Is he more influential than the Boko Haram leader? Obviously, NO!!!
congrats for what now? for chopping naija's money? or for finishing boko haram or for reducing poverty level in Nigeria? I Wonder the criteria they use in picking influential people in the world. Hisssssss!
http://www.eeshalicious.wordpress.com
Someone should tell the president not to be too glad about it afterall Osama bin laden made this list in 2002
I think appearance on the dailies is a criteria for the title........
"Oyel" money!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, i didnt bother to read the rest of the story cos from my point of view,
GEJ is a failure.
the number of Nigerians that have died during his tenure is enough to create two solid states.
there is nothing to congratulate him about.
i tink is a typographical error....
all of you attacking Linda, cant you see she put "YIMZ" after praising him ni or u dont know that yimz means yimu like she is bn sarcastic.ahn ahn read well b4 you comment, where is your sense of humour?we all know Linda doesnt support this government or rather she is not happy with d way govt is treating us.
I never see vil people like una wey dey for this Linda blog. Many of una b winch wey dey fly for night and they suck blood. Una heart black pass night. That is why na only insult full una body. Person get something new una go hate, e get bad una go hate. You promote, buy, build, win, anytin yet na hate una dey hate. Since una no wan leave hating, hate no go leave una.
Ah ah, na wetin? Whathapeeens? Just simply congratulate the man, na wa. Naija problem no fit get solved so soon weder u like or not. Who no knw go tink say GEJ has been naija's presido since 1960. We don forget all d nonsense military people commit.
Abeg, make una free the man jor. GEJ I hale you. Carry go, nothing do you. Just sha check ursef well and listen to people wish and do am and then u fit even be d most influential person in the world.
wait a minute you mean that jona actually wrote this on his blog or was it hacked shake my damn head unbelievable amean is that what his mates are celebrating??? people celebrate when they have geniuely made a difference and what has jona done since he was in power NOTHING and i repeat again NOTHING and he is hear runing his mouth like tap to talk of himself being included in the list nawa ohhh it really just showed that he has nothing doing in that aso rock that he sits his backside on.
let him take a tour of naija and see poverty and let him stand up nonsense yeye man with that his umblella wife who has no human feeling in her what so ever.
@Anon 10:29am. Do you mind reading and understanding Linda's posts before talking crap??? If you dont know the meaning of the "yimu" rit after the congratulations, then you should ask around. As if you're paying her to write stories for you. If you're such an anti-GEJ activist, kindly take yourself to Aso rock and confront him yourself. Not that i like the man too and i think he deserves this praise as much as the devil deserves to be in heaven but if you had read the post properly, then you'll know Linda was jes foolin around with him.
@GEJ, Shame on you sir. If your own people think this is bullshit, then its not worth jack.
Abegggggggi. If u guys dnt apprciate him, some pple do.
Influential? Case in point is the way he handled the coup plotters in Mali. 2. Made SA to come begging. just my 2 cents.
TIME 100, like the editors of the magazine do say isn't an endoresment or an award but a compilation of people who make news in a spectacular manner in a given period, usually a peer, e.g, a fellow president is asked to write something about a nominee, which Ellen Johnson Sirleaf did for GEj. Considering the manner Jonathan became Nigeria's President and the influence a Nigerian President wields it's just normal that he makes that list before the end of his Presidency. Ironically that he is the first Nigerian President to be confronted with Islamic terrorism has also contributed in why he made the list.
madam, stop fooling urself. U knw who's writing ds
Lolzzz. ♈̷̴☺u don kolo finish o
Abi o
The guy is a goat! On the same he named one of the "most influential Nonsense". Americans warned their citizens to be careful when travelling to Nigeria or avoid travelling to Nigeria. May be he can use some of his Useless influence to help Nigeria.
Watch our for my humble self in the next edition... here http://www.mynaijainfo.blogspot.com/
What the?! Either I fell, banged my head and am suffering from a major concussion of Johnson-Sirleaf did!! Which Goodluck Jonathan in what alternate universe is she talking about?? Warrahell??
Walahi, I just lost a huge chunk of respect for her. Kai!
In short met me end this before I go into an endless rant on our president's ineptitude and general cluelessness!
Abi na world's most hater individual dem wan talk?
Lol @ lindi baby, yimz continues..... I jez hope he is gonna deliver all what he promise oooo... Isssoraiiiiiii!!! God is watching.
Dude! When dey say influence, it connotes 2 things: positive and negative, so stop wavin d flag cos urs sure is comin frm d negative angle. Mtchewww.....*Rme*
Anonymous 02.29 and 02.34 can u fucking read sha dont pizz me of and leave linda alone Dickheads!
Subsidy removal had influence in Nigeria...
Ok
Oloshi pataki, go and influence boko haram first before writing speech.
madam Somi..name one thing that your Resident of Aso Rock has acheived! Despite all the goodwill and trust put on him by ordinary Nigerians that were tired of the despotic rule of the Northerners,he has let us down woefully! The same ills that plague our society that Fela sang about in the 80's still abound and have multiplied..Still no electricity,no good roads..the Boko Haram is still a menace and your clueless President just shows up to make silly speeches at the next bomb blast site..Money is no longer stolen in millions but billions..Yet him and his semi-illeterate wife parade themselves like peacockc sendind armed soldiers to crush the spirit of the people and cordon off our roads for their worthless meetings! May the next bomb blast visit Jona and madam 'my fellow widows'! I will rather be ruled by the next aboki or soldiers than a clueless, spineless kitten
My dear, don't want to hurt ur feelings but to put it mildly, look b4 u leap. Even if everything linda put up there doesn't make total sense to u, one word "yimz" should stand out cos dat nullifies everything. Ahh, and if u don't know d meaning, ask a friend!
This is a crap list!!!
This Somi must be Bamideles gf or relative..so annoying and nauseating..objectivity def passed u two by!!..all this illumanti awards as someone said IMF Media Music World Bank Forbes all controlled by same people don't be swayed by all their nonsense..of course he would be in..cut subsidy..opening market 4 them..boko haram killing like mad..population reduction in essence!!..str8frmDaHips
Congrats GEJ....may God continue to guide u as u steer d ship of the nation....u guys shd learn to appreciate ur own.what u pple hav not seen others are.
I DONT KNOW WHY YOU ARE ALL WORRIED ABOUT HIM PRAISING HIMSELF COS HE WAS SAID TO BE INFLUENTIAL! BEING INFLUENTIAL ISNT A THING TO BE COMMENDABLE ABOUT. WHAT DO YOU CALL A MAN WHO DURING THE FUEL SUBSIDY SAGA HAD NIGERIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD CALLING FOR HIS RESIGNATION AS A FAILED LEADER....'NEGATIVELY' INFLUENTIAL, I BELIEVE. HITLER WAS INFLUENTIAL, ZIMMERMAN CAN BE TERMED INFLUENTIAL, ABACHA WAS INFLUENTIAL...SO WAT THE HECK ABOUT GEJ PRAISING HIMSELF FOR BEEN IN TIMES 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL. HE NEEDS TO BE TUTORED.
so gej can come and vomit this nonsense ehhh...instead of him to fix light water health care transport and then come out anr right and people would applaud him he is here right nonsense for including him in times 100list ehh well it just shows where his priority lies
Baba....mmm. Baba, e gboju jor
- olah
That's lobbying so that he'll try to convince the senate to legalize homosexuality. Shoe less man from niger delta, Oyibo dem go play you like ball. Most influential fool of the century
Congratulations Mr. President for this feat achieved. This goes to show that your hard-work and purposeful leadership has been seen the the international community. I noticed that those criticizing Mr. President are those that cannot even manage their family properly let alone others. They should criticize wisely and stop abusing and insulting the President.
The fact remains that he is the president of the third fastest growing economy and the leader of the most populous black nation. That alone is enough to get him to number 20. That said, i wonder what criteria they used in this ranking. Imagine giving Obama number 61! Do you know how influential that guy really is! All the bombs at his disposal!
I wonder how easy it will be for GEJ to turn himself into all the members of the armed forces so he can quell the boko haram menace. I think that if i try real hard i'll forget all the good things that have happened in his tenure. -just thinking out loud-
Peter Alexander Okafor
una just dey kill una self . u can influence pple positively or negatively. so u make out why each person is on that list . i bet some made it due to their negative influence. no disrespect to gej but i havent felt his government yet. i leave yu all to ur opinion but this is my personal opinion
