This is an important milestone for Facebook because it’s the first time we’ve ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don’t plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.

Anon 9.52pm u say that cos u dont realise how much instagram earns when one of 30million users refreshes a page. Just google what facebook had to pay to acquire the domain 'fb.com' they wont pay up to a billion if they wont make more than that in the end.
Bella, many companies have paid even more than $1b to buy another company, and ended up having to write off losses...
Don't assume that just because someone's spending a huge amount of money, he can't possibly be making a mistake...
Those guys in Facebook are not accident succes stories. They sure know how to make people feel insecure.
it is high time mehn....if there is one thing Facebook has going for it, it is its ability to share pictures and wall writings and notes. The only shortcoming is the fact that it can be difficult upload pictures on facebook directly via a mobile phone unless of course you are using a 3rd party software to do so. For instance, I use photobook to upload large pictures to my facebook account where as doing it directly is almost impossible and I find default mobile upload a little clumsy as it does not arrange your pics in selected folders and albums, especially those of us that care little for blackberry phones and still remain loyal to Nokia phones. Anyway, this a way to go with stiff competition from twitter and skype, the icebreaker here is innovation and new and simple technology. By the way, I hate twitter....like come on what can you say in 140 characters that will make sense...scheeeew. The replies are eveb more annoying and clumsy....
Money talks, Mark is a young/good business man.
Oh Mbok check out strategic planning. I garra go read this story and be inspired and get off my arse. Laziness is a disease mtchew, Entrepreneur toh badt, i'm coming soon world.
Good one Facebook.
I don't find it difficult or clumsy uploading large pictures from my blackberry.it could also depend on your location and network. When I travelled to Nigeria last month, using my phone for usual business was very frustrating, slow and network was really bad. I know arranging it in a specific folder "mobile uploads" sucks, no options.
