But, when it comes to gossip, oral sex, you will be first in class, is there more to you?

Why don't you go read about him first. I just googled him, and that's what you should have simply done.

He needs to lose some weight first before collecting award. Did they give him award for eating the biggest quantity of foofoo/apu or what?

@ CP. why all the abuse on Linda, if you are educated and you know so much, then keep it to yourself. I could tell your level of education is low... I 2 sabi

Anonymous said...

@CP. Ode ni e! Linda you are right joo. The man is relatively obscure to me the time of Dora' action mama' Akunyili where you dont need to scratch your head to remember who the director of NAFDAC was. It's an indicator of efficiency

Dr. Paul Botwev Orhii was born and raised at Lessel in Benue State of Nigeria. He attended St. Francis College, Otukpo, Benue State, which he successfully completed in 1980 with a "Distinction" in the West African School Certificate Examinations, excelling in both the science and the liberal art courses.

Pursuant to his childhood dream to become a lawyer, and also because of his unquenchable passion for the legal profession, Dr. Orhii briefly worked at the High Court of Justice in Makurdi, Benue State, where he clerked for Honorable Justice Sylvester Umaru Onuh (recently retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria), Hon. Justice Aloysius Iyorgyer Katsina-Alu and Hon. Justice James Ogebe, both currently serving Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

In 1982, while attending the University of Jos, where he was admitted to study Medicine, Dr. Orhii won a highly competitive scholarship award and became one of the 23 successful candidates selected from a pool of more than 168,000 applicants to study medicine in Russia for the 1982 academic year.

Paul graduated with Honors from the Stavropol State Medical Institute, Russia in 1989, and was immediately offered an opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. in Medicine (emphasis in Chrono-Neuropsychopharmacology). That made him the first foreigner ever, to be sponsored by the school and to be awarded a teaching assistantship. Paul successfully defended his Ph.D. program in 1992, two years ahead of scheduled time. His work from that program immediately attracted international attention. Within his first year into the Ph.D. program, Paul was invited to make presentations at prestigious international scientific meetings. His abstract won a travel award to the 3rd International Congress of Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry in Tokyo, Japan, 1991. He was also invited to continue his research work in many countries, including the USA, Israel, England, Japan and Australia, but he opted to come back to Nigeria and serve his fatherland.

From 1992 to 1993 Dr. Orhii served in the National Youth Service Corps, teaching Pharmacology to medical students at the Department of Pharmacology, The University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria. Unfortunately, he was forced to leave the country again when the universities were closed indefinitely during the 1992-1993 academic year. He arrived the USA as a Visiting Scientist in November 1993 and worked as a Biomedical Scientist with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas, where he also supervised work conducted by graduate students, research assistants and volunteer students until August 2003, when he left research to attend Law School full time in Houston, Texas. Since his arrival in the USA, Dr. Orhii has authored or co-authored more than twenty peer-reviewed scientific publications. In the year 2001 his research activity was considered to be of National interest to the USA and on that basis, he was awarded a permanent resident status to continue to reside and work in the USA.

2.

During his years in Medical school, Dr. Orhii was the President of a student body made up of representatives from more than fifty countries. Working as a biomedical scientist, Dr. Orhii traveled the world extensively attending workshops and International scientific conferences and has visited more than twenty countries across the globe.

While serving in the National Youth Service Corps as a lecturer with the University of Jos, Dr. Orhii met and married Mrs. Eugenia Ayam Orhii, then a third year Law student at the University. Immediately following their marriage, the couple moved to San Antonio, Texas, USA where they were blessed with four children, three sons: Russel Tiza Orhii (15) a Middle School American Football Star, Michael Chia Orhii (13), Nicholas Devaan Orhii (8), and an only daughter, Paulette Doofan Orhii (11).

Dr. Orhii is multilingual and very proficient in Tiv, Russian and English languages. He also has a vast exposure to divergent cultural, political, educational and economic systems of the world and a wealth of experience that cuts across different social and cultural strata. His medical training and excellent leadership qualities acquired from decades of interacting with people of diverse backgrounds in his capacity as a liaison between school administrations and the student bodies, coupled with his legal training, have adequately prepared him for a very successful career as a Pharmaceutical Litigator, seasoned administrator and a visionary leader.

It is therefore not surprising that on 13th January, 2009 the Federal Government of Nigeria appointed Dr. Paul Orhii as the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), an agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and controlling the importation, exportation, manufacture, advertisement, sales and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, chemicals, medical devices and packaged water.

On the international scene, in July 2009, he was appointed the Vice Chairman of the International Medical Products Anti-Counterfeiting Task force (IMPACT) in Geneva, Switzerland.

He is fully licensed as an Attorney and Counselor at Law in Texas and is a member of the Texas Bar, The American Bar Association (ABA), the American Society for Bone & Mineral Research (ASBMR), The Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria, The European Pineal Society (EPS) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

For his commitment to the values of hardwork, he has received over 15 Awards and Recognitions locally and internationally, prominent among which are:-

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Inspirational Leadership and Good Governance Award by the National Co-ordinating Council of SATBILA FORUM

Award of Excellence by Nigeria Legal Aid Council (2009)
