Alleged Theft: Man Found Dead Half Way in Grave

An unidentified man, in his thirties, was found dead on Sunday, at a grave site, while apparently attempting to rob a corpse in Kazaure, Jigawa State.

The man was said to be attempting to exhume the corpse, which had been buried earlier on Sunday morning, in an effort to steal some valuables said to have been buried with it.

While making the attempt, the loose earth collapsed, trapping the man as shown in the picture. He died on the spot.

He was found, hours later, dead, but onlookers said it appeared that he had struggled to free himself from the grave site, but could not.

From the injuries sustained on his head, it was apparent that he had hit his head on an object in the grave which, perhaps, made him unable to free himself.

Also, sympathisers said he might have been knocked unconscious, and so could not have been able to shout for help.

Nigerian Tribune investigations could not, however, ascertain how he was related to the corpse, or how he knew what valuables had been buried with it, as his corpse was yet to be claimed at the time of filing this report.

Grave robbery is no robbery, but it did not happen because it appeared on the internet first...

Who says the dead man was trying to steal from the corpse, how are you sure he wasn't killed by someone else, who saw him trying to steal from the corpse. This is so FALSE!

I dont think we should say it erves him right, the truth is the level of suffering in this country is so high that people can do anything for money.Just the other a guy was caught trying to steal money from the tithe box in my church. The suffering in this country is just too much.

How do they know he was trying to steal? What if someone killed him and put his body there?

There may be more than 1 side to this story - 1) what is he was murdered and placed in this position for it to look like what its looking like now? 2) what if he was actually led here to kill himself by some form of remote control? 3)what if he really needed money and had noone to turn to for help and decided to take something of someone who wouldnt miss it? Something sinister happened here

I know that death is serious BUT this is too funny.

The photos just add to the humour.

This reminds me of an episode on the show 'A thousand ways to die' where a brother that felt cheated by his dead relative dug the grave to steal his expensive rings but dug too close to the tombstone which eventually fell on him with his face on top of his dead relative. hilarious stuff.instant judgment.
Linda: I have a feeling that you may subconsciously be interested in being an advocate for the helpless. If yes, then I pray you will be guided towards that path of your destiny IJN. Great work, Linda. I so appreciate you and dont worry all things will work out in its season.

To Bee,
From the 1st picture, you can clearly see that this man had rolled up his trousers past the knees like you would when you don't want them soiled and about to do some work. Also the muscles on his legs are taut like he struggled to get out before giving up.
Giving the said injury to his head,he would have panicked and run out of air down there.
Conclusion:Story is probably right.
If you point the finger of stupidity to fellow Naijas, don't forget the three fingers pointing at U.
