“The dismissal of this soldier will serve as a warning to others. Military personnel must be warned that their insubordination of civil law will attract punitive measures like dismissal.” General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Maj.–Gen. Kenneth Minimah said yesterday.
The dismissed officer is Sunday Ayodeji and he was a lance corporal.

The soldier "that" defied traffic law has been dismissed- It could be me but I don't think using the expression "that" is correct in this context- it is better to say, "the soldier who broke traffic law has been dimissed (or sacked)" OR "army sacks soldier accused of breaking traffic law"
Good for him, silly man. I am pleased with this one, am not one to laugh at a man's down fall, but he had this coming. He is not above the law!!!
More of such court martials & dismissals pls! How about the soldiers who killed the 3 police officers? It is time to sanitise the security agents, they are no different from robbers and animals!
Great News! Nobody is above the law except Bankole!! Get him outta here!!!
Every day for the thief, one day for the master.
:))))
he served as a scapegoat.
i think that's rather too harsh he should have been given a long suspension without pay cos they're some of his colleagues who've done as in kill people unjustly and they're still in service so to me this is wrong OK he was wrong to have taken the brt lane but this punishment is to harsh, and i think why this is so is cos the incident was well publicized,we can so overdo stuffs in NAIJA sha
I am all for upholding d rule of law. But was dis guy given a fair trial? The armed forces act clearly lists d offences that warrant dismissal. I dnt think dis dude driving on a brt lane shud earn him a dismissal. Haba.
Like someone rightly said, a long suspension wud hv been okay.
That's hw one of our clients, a female police officer was sacked becos she was on duty wen some pple on detention escaped frm police cell. Without givin her fair hearing. D case is still b4 d federal high court!
This guy shud get a good lawyer and sue 4 wrongful dismissal ASAP
I do not think his dismissal was to do with driving on the bus lane, rather, his actions thereafter. When stopped, instead of paying the fine he telephoned his cronies and a fight ensued causing additional disruption and bringing the forces into disrepute. He was hired to protect and serve his fellow country men and not cause havoc due to blatant disregard of the law. That, was the reason for his dismissal and therefore, JUST.
Ok o! Linda i know no say you get Lecturers for your blog. How much you dey pay them?
Pls dont finish me o cos i no call names.
He broke a civil law hence his punishment. And yes breaking a civil or military law can warrant dismissal from the armed forces.
he should find another place to flex his muscles. no more room for him to flex with the army.
Does this makes it look like the country is turning to a better place? I guess not...LOL
english teacher clap for yourself
punishing that soldier is better than de sack, hw could you pull a lion frm its den and throw it among de rams? As u sack him, did u sack away his skills as a brave soldier, or take away de secret of soldiering frm him? YOU ARE EMPOWERING bOKO HARaM
