Quote of the day

"To become a billionaire, Christians must simply imagine it, ask and realise that money, blessing and favour are already in them. All they need is to ‘work out’ what ‘God has already worked in." - Pastor Paul Adefarasin

Amen I concur. God has already put it in me to be a billionaire in £'s that I believe. My time is now, my time is here in Jesus name. Amen

ehen, so how come he hasn't visualized his multi-million naira church edifice into reality. oops, God is still working on it.

Jide; thank you! We can dream but if we sit down and not do anything and wait for manna to drop from heaven then we don't know the deal.

honestly, this is the sort of mindless talk that makes Africans remain backward. it is very rich of this pastor who has enriched himself by exploiting the vulnerable, to open his mouth and talk without thinking. Money does not grow on trees, and everything is not by magic.
Instead we should look at billionaires like bill gates and co who started from nothing to build their empires. be innovative, be hardworking, patient and diligent and stop waiting for instant miracles right left and centre. Gosh! in what way has this man inspired you to make money? how did he make his? I am tired of these men of god and their irresponsible teachings.

hahahahhahaha, and as they continue to give to your pockets and make you richer, some day just some day, they may become billionaires. SMDH. Nigerians it is time to wake up. That country will keep putting you down until you fight for what is truly yours. Your level or standard of living will not change. Forget all these prosperity teachings. That is not God's focus on earth and in heaven.

I really don't know what to make of pentecostal churches.i am getting tired of these actors.
If that is all it takes to be a billionaire,i assume he is already one and it did not involve seed sowing, offerings, love gifts and tithes from his congregation?

These men and women are giving God a bad name.God is not against riches,he wants your all round prosperity but all this dream it,claim it and be it is not rooted in scripture. It is a form of extremism.

First this was probably one sentence taken out of a whole sermon - i doubt he meant just day dream and it will fall into your lap.
Secondly the truth of the matter is whatever manifests in the physical starts from the mental - its a time tested truth. If you can think it you can achieve it. Read "The Secret"
A lot of people don't dream or give up on their dreams or have dreams and don't follow up with requisite action. My two cents

Some of you are ignorant. What has he said that you disagree with?

Does the bible not say:

Ask and you shall receive?

Seek and you shall find?

Knock and the door shall be opened?

So what do you disagree with?

yawn, enough of these false prophets.

I wish you all could read the whole story as I did in PM News of yesterday. I shook my head. I respect Pastor Paul but I was disappointed. In the midst of suffering, sickness and poverty, one man(a pastor) is amassing for himself. Who's our model and his? Isn't it JESUS? Did he amass wealth for himself? All these things will fade when all men become equal 6 feet below. If only he will give a quarter of his billions, perhaps so many public schools will be renovated. I dey SMH oh!

@passerby, i am also shaking my head for you, pssshhhheewww, after all i didn't just think of it, he said it himself, so how come the rule has not applied to his ministry. just pointing out an obvious flaw in his yeye soppy theory (d kind dt jobless hopefuls love to hear so much). e ma tepa mo se yin.

SMH @ some of the nonsense here. So God wants us to be poor? Or does he want us to suffer?

linda when ur posting a comment make sure u post it right,he said "all we need is in us but you can sit down because sitting down doesnt get you anything, you have to get up and work what you have so ur riches can be manifested"

What does Linda hv to do with this!? That you r asking her to do it rite blah blah blah!?
Bottom line is, agree or disagree...... Some Nigerian pastors have forgotten that their is a Hereafter! this world will come to an end...either when one dies or judgement day! It is with thy deeds ye shall be judged, not by thy riches, beauty or status! The emphasis on worldliness is getting out of hand! Why shld pastors be on a Forbes list for Christ's sake??? Why? With that kind of money.... no woman shld fry akara to put her children thru school!! But i wouldn't judge any of them... i will only say a prayer, the God Almighty reveals to us those who's word is true..... Amen!

To be a cnristian is to be christlike. The last I remebered, the son of God had no where to lay his head. Y I am not taking a vow of poverty - I'll leave that to amazing people like Mother Teresa, and the likes. BUT.....there is someting wrong with this message. What do you need to be a millionaire for???? Does it bring happiness, humility? closeness to God?? Remember that Jesus said"it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to entre the kingdom of God. Yes!!! I want prosperity - I want to educate my children, retire in my own home and have enough money for illness and of course a little enjoyment. But millionaire??? Not for me. Why should a man of God preach that this is a good thing to attain when it comes with so much temptation. I do not claim it because I do not need it and I do not want or need that kind of money. I own more designer bag/shoes etc than I need and on my more introspective days I wonder what I need with all these. I feel weighted down by my possesions. Jewels, I have too. I have travelled as far as Asia, Papua etc and really and I am not sure that I can call myself a thousandnaire (hehe). I did not need millions to do any of these. I claim good health, some financial security, peace, a loving family, good friends, contentment, gratitude, educated "balanced" children and a life dedicated to God and a useful and meaningful life in which I have positively and altruistically impacted the lives of others. I would be grateful to have these and THAT is what I would teach my children is worth striving for. Haba, who will be the nurses, doctors, lecturers, if everyone is a millionaire. I feel that there is something decidely base about this. The question I ask is why do you want riches????? In a world where there are so many poor and desperate how can I morally and spiritually justify such superflousness. Nonsense money (the lack of it and an excess of it is the root of a lot of evil). So in a country with no manufacturing, no industry, over 40% umeployment, how do you attain this? I'm afraid that the means of attaining this kind of wealth in Nigeria are probably outright or slightly corrupt and prone to many ungodly pursuits. My guess is become a politician (very Godly I'm sure - I am tongue in cheek here) or yes of course become a pastor!!! I agree with one of the posts, I have a fried of my husbands, a hustler, overachiever ( not in the sense that I want my children to be) and just looking for how to strike it big. Stopped working and started a church, and he's made........I guess that says it all. Goodness,, this has been a bit of long tirade on my part.

Its so sad that Linda can just lift a statement out of an hour plus sermon. He working it out doesn't mean sitting down and just imagining it without doing anything. Faith without works is death. And for those that read it on PM news, remember they will want to sell their newspaper so the write what they know you will want to read. Please buy the tape for clarification. Selah

Miss Ama said...

I was there at this service and you need to buy the tape, listen well and correct the impression you have circulated with just this one line from his over 90 minutes long sermon. He did say it starts with one's thoughts, and thereafter, one had a responsiblity to work with all that God had put on one's inside to make it happen as dreaming it alone wont make it materialise. Is that in any way a wrong thing to say???
