Actress Ufuoma Ejenobor alleges assault

“I was assaulted by policemen attached to the convoy of the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker (Adeyemi Ikuforiji) on the 29th of October 2010. They hit my car and drove on without regarding their act. When I started recording it, they got angry, assaulted me and took my blackberry phone... which they still have till date.” - Nollywood actress Ufuoma Ejenobor wrote on facebook yesterday.

first of all i haven't seen this actress in a movie yet.. maybe i need to catch up on my Naija movies...
Those police men better hand over her black berry..oshi's.. This is just ridiculous... They treat humans lesser than animals in that country, i am beginning to think that we would do better without police men in that country. their wahala is too much o..why would any police man take your phone when it is not for investigation or criminal matters? Nawa o

Ufoma sorry about that. they have NO RIGHT to take ur blackberry or any thing beonging to u. when i hear stories like this I just want to stay put where I am and forget about Nigeria and it's challenges. mmssceeeww. Lawlessness. No regard for lives and property. Pshheeeeww.

Actually what she can do is petition the Governor and even the speaker..assuming he was not in the convoy. she should by no means keep quiet..petition the IG too and take this seriously.

it's just sad that almost 12 years after the transition to democracy rule, some people are yet to realise it!

I just hate the lawlessness in 9ja. taking the woman phone amounts to robbery and the person responsible should be charged for theft. Adeyemi Ikuforiji should be, even when he leaves office, be held responsible for the actions of his staffs.

Sm pple's comment amaze me,the fact dat Nigerian govt is polluted does not mean we shud keep mute and die in silence. If we don't like d attitude of our so called leaders and d guys dat are suppose to protect us,we shud speak out and one day, surely dey would hear our cry.
Its time U & I started shouting our right every where we go,2 keep singing NO to d ruthless behaviours of dese guys.

A Philosopher once said dat if u're nt satisfied with d Govt of a particlar place,is either u take part 2 change it or u leave dat place. And I think we stand a better chance changing dis country than running away.

"All mankind... being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty or possessions.” By nature and law, dese guys hav no right or watsoever to carry out such a babaric act.

Lastly,“Government has no other end, but the preservation of property and life of its citizenry.” But d reverse nah d case 4 Naija. But I bet u guys, make dem ready becos jungle don mature so te rat go dey terrorise Lion.

Lets stand 4 our right,no wait make dem give us our right but make we collect weda by force or Agbari....

to the bafoon who made the comment saying if she thinks it's a movie. you are a goat and you need to learn when to keep your silly thoughts to yourself.

I'm sorry about the treatment you got. it was unjust and inhumane. I'm glad you are taking the matter seriously and standing your ground. I applaud your actions because soo many people do not have the courage to do what you did. Stand firm and don't back down. I'm not Nigerian but I do believe in justice. Police officers should know their place and also realize that they are NOT above the law. their job is to protect the citizens not terrify and abuse them. There should be a better screening method to recruit police officers.
I do pray and hope that the matter is not taken lightly by the law and that something is done to stop this kind of treatment by the police.
