"Nature has got it all wrong: When you are younger, it should be harder to get pregnant, and as you get older it should be easier. When you are so ready, you can't do it to save your life. And when you are 21, you are so not ready, but you are ripe as could be. The eggs should become more developed the older you get, not die slowly from the day you're born. That's one thing God got wrong."
Halle Berry tells Vogue magazine...God got something wrong? Never heard that before.
Thoughts?

the babe don kolo. so you want to be 48years old when your kids are 2years old abi? who has time for that? God got it wrong ko. celebrities think they know it all just because of what they have in their bank accounts.
don't mind them they they think they are authorities on all subjects just bcos ppl care to listen to the jibberish they have to say....so clueless to say God got it all wrong../...
what a selfish and proud woman...you pursue your dream and put away motherhood and you think even God should switch things for your lil behind when you are ready?...Hollywood or Hollyweird think they are so smart....mschewwwww
Infact... I'm at a loss for words.
Halle, mothers are the bearers and natural carers for children, the younger you have your kids, then possibly the longer you have to nuture and raise them. A womans fertility increasing as she gets older means that women would want to wait to have children at the oldest age possible when other areas of there life fits in, which means you will have 60,70,80 year old mums, so how long will you have to spend with the child. GOD GOT IT ALL RIGHT!
First it was JEnnifer Aniston saying women dont need men to have a child. Now God got it wrong from Halle berry. You cant have it all, life is not that perfect. If you have wealth and fame and it took you a long time to be mum, that is nobody's fault. All over the world there are people who have loads of children and live in poverty. You cant have everything,That is life.
I think what she said makes a lot of sense if u don't over-flog the "God made a mistake" part. Its easy for women to concieve in their teen age and twenties(when most women are not ready for pregnancy) and it becomes increasingly difficult as the years progress, which could be from 30 and not necessarily at Halle's age (when most women are ready for pregnancy). This is just my opinion though,I stand to be corrected.
she's just sad...
@ Lemberdoo, i def agree with you 100%.I thought her analysis made sense...Females are fertile when they are in their teens and this is when a majority of them are not ready for kids and then as they grow older and want kids, it becomes harder. That's why you will see a teenager who had sex just once and got pregnant and would say "but we did it just once" it is cos at that age, the eggs and hormones are raging at that age making it easier to have kids.
Also each month as we go through our menstral cycle we shed and loose egss. So the older we get the less eggs we have but as a younger person, you have only shed so many eggs making you more fertile.
Too bad all the money Halle has cannot change what God has done already-lol
well thats her business if she wasnt ready. God got it all right cuz he designated certain ages to have children...if u didn't have kids early because u didnt want to (and u hv no medical issues) then thats ur own personal problem
I won't say God
Got it wrong but I'd rather we became more fertile as we age bcz look at it.most women r most likely to marry late in dr 20's n well into dr. 30's now due to many reasons.then dy need babies n dr egg supply is dwindling.as for me fertility shd increase in ur 30's n start reducing from late 40's cos of d attendant medical problems with pregnancy at dt age.
I agree with halle (apart from the God got it wrong).I know someone who had been pregnant at a go when she was 20 but couldn't have a baby then as she couldn't take care of a baby and now she is in her 30s and the only thing that would complete her happiness is a baby but it's proving too difficult to get.she has tried natural and about 5 Ivfs.so I think it would have been better if women are more fertile at the age when they are capable of taking care of a baby and not bring a baby in to the world to suffer when they re not capable .There will also be less abortion cos there will be less unwanted pregnancies.I know one can avoid it by using protection but mistakes do happen sometimes.
please she should go and insult her mother for having her young. maybe now she would have been 10 yrs old instead of 40 something yrs old by now. mad people they have in that HOLLYWOOD. RUBBISH! I love halle berry but this statement is nah! nonsense.
wow! I honestly didn't think she would get criticized for that quote. mY GOSH! Some of u guys jst take things and run with it. Just because she mentioned God in it, u guys failed 2 see where she was coming from. lol
What she was trying 2 say was that younger women are usually broke and most times cant afford or are not ready 2 take care of kids which is y most abort it anyway but the sad thing is that that is when women r most fertile.
Take a chill pill people! It ain't that serious.
Maybe she should hv omitted that last sentence & then maybe u guys would hv allowed yourselves see where she was coming from.
She's dumb!!
SMH, all these fake fanatics.
i think that we as women of the 21st century are not like the women of yesteryears that got married in their teens and were through with baby making at the age of 25. these days, we have careers and marry "not so early".
you guys better mind yourselves with the insults on her. aren't you happy that she even believes in GOD compared to the others that just don't think there is a GOD.
she's just saying what she thinks like you're doing yours.
Dont forget the kind of men teenagers tend to meet at those most fertile ages, dont always want to get married. Same with those that are 20-24.
No one can predict life and in a socety like ours, the woman must be married by a man forst before she gets pregnant. Sometimes she meets the man and have children at early 20s, other times she marry at 19 and next 19yrs no pregnancies.
More recently and due to the economic factors in our soicety, the lady meets and dates a guy for say 10years then when she gets to 31,and he is say 36 and settled, he says he doesnt want her anymore.Meaning she needs to start over again..nature wont wait..
so yes,I understand what she is saying. At least she has a child, and ahealthy one at that, she should be grateful to God.
Well, I think some of us don't have a sense of humour. I think it is an African-AMerican way of talking, just like there is a Nigerian way of talking that is humorous too. So, tell me ur opinion...lol
Linda, please publish o... thanks.
Forgot to add that this was a very nice post Linda, its interestingto read the various opinions.
Lemberdoo, Dith and skank and a few others, very, very well said.
A woman is her most fertile in her late teens and that is the truth but soceity has changed sooooo much.
Teenage women may not be ready to have children at that very fertile state. Those that do, (not all of cus) are usually not emotionally matured enough to realise the gift on their hands even if they were married and settled first, worse if they were not and have to be single mums.
But you see that most women in their thirties and forties find that they are financially capable of having and caring for their children with or without a man (like Halle herself) they are also more emotionally ready to have their children and you just notice a visible shift in priorities when it works out for them. They are so grateful as they realise that gift i their hands. I have seen that in celebs like Nicole Kidman who had her baby in her 40s.
Then I dont know if anyone else has ever noticed how different the quality of life experienced by children of early marriages differ with those of late marriages when the parents are emotionally and financially stable? I am the first born and my mum was a married teen when she had me and I can see the difference in almost every respect between me and the baby of the house, who my mum had at 29.
For one, I fear my parents and do not talk back to them and definitely cannot even bare to seat in same room with them, yet you see the youngest siblings, seating on their laps, playing with their hair while we all discuss. Am like 'see liver sha' :)..anyway I digress.lol
Halle Berry made sense, but she shouldnt have questioned God. Plus it looks as if she is not open to adoption at least for now (I may be wrong)
The good thing is, she has her own child.
Hmmmmmm....Really?...
You agreed with her but not that God got it wrong while her theory is all about how God got it wrong...
Remember God is perfect and so are all his ways.....And he never wanted us to have any sexual relationship at that early age..
we choose to go by our own rules most of the time and end up complaining....
Go by HIS rule and tell me why you wont have kids at the right time..
@H.. God doesn't stop us from challenging him. If you have a close relationship with God, you can have a heart to heart conversations with him about any issue bothering you. You can get angry with God. God is approachable. Didn't Jacob wrestle with God physically and spiritually before God changed his name to Isreal. Please stop looking at God from a human perspective. God doesn't think or act like human beings. We are all about status and use fear to create respect. Fear is not love. God is love. We can question him or talk to him about things we don't understand or doesn't make sense to us. It doesn't mean we think we are right. Don't children question their earthly parents. We get angry at our kids but do we hold it against our kids?? We are children of God. He loves us more than our earthly parents!! A parent that loses a child to illness can get mad at God. God understands. Christ gives us grace through his sacrifice, so we can seek God's face. Nigeria Christians forget the concept of love and relationships. The basis of the new testament is love! Halle Berry can question God or get angry with God . God is forgiving and will not hold it against her. She has grace, thru christ death, to come back to God. Please all you fanatics stop judging! It is not your place to judge but to love and be understanding to your fellow men and women! I understand her point.
