After what seemed like an endless wait, the nominees for the fifth edition of Hiphopworld awards were formally unveiled on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at a small breakfast event held at the awards secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos.
Executive Producer Ayo Animashaun revealed the full list of nominees, amounting to a total of 19 categories, two new categories were introduced this year, Best RNB Single and Best Pop single

Av always known HHWA is flawed....
1. Must mode9 be nominated in same category(lyricist on the roll) since the commencement of the awards.
2. Why is Dagrin's "kondo" or " pon pon pon" not nominated as song of the year.
3. Why is Dagrin not among the revelation of the year (in spite of the fact that virtually all 9ja artistes have featured him so far).

Once again, this nominations get k-leg no be small. I mean, as much as i love Tee-Y Mix, the songs he's nominated for aren't even 'it' at all. Why weren't Sheyman & K-Solo nominated? I think the former has been producing hit after hit in the past year. And why is Artquake's Alanta just being nominated now, when it's been released for 2 or 3 yrs now? I mean, i've got so many questions with little answer now...so i'm just going to let it pass now. I'm sure 'hands don exchange'.
