HOW TO KEEP YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT HEALTHY AND POSITIVE.

If you keep your mind and spirit healthy and positive, you are bound to live a happier, healthier and longer life. Have you ever been stressed, depressed, angry or sad and then all of a sudden get sick? You think that is a coincidence? Last year when I was a little depressed, I noticed THREE major things that happened to me. 1. I lost a lot of weight. 2. My skin colour became darker and 3. I had no motivation to do anything to improve my life. I just went from day to day mopping.

I take interest in a lot of things, especially if it affects me or someone I know directly. So I've been doing alot of research on how to keep your mind positive and healthy. One thing I have learnt from extensive reading is that our thoughts are totally interconnected to our bodies and our emotions have a huge impact on our physical well-being. That is why it is extremely important that we keep ourselves emotionally healthy.

Here are some tips on how to get a better grip on the power of your mind so that you can make sure that the rest of you remains happy and healthy.

1. Be confident: It's important that you know your strenght and weakness and accept them and do your best with what you have. Always remember that you have a talent and finding out what it is, is a key to a happier you.

2. Learn to express your emotions in a positive way and healthy manner. If you are angry, don't go around throwing things. If you are sad, don't go getting suicidal. Try find out what is making you feel that way and do something positive about it. No fist fights, tantrums or dramatic actions, peaceful resolutions are essential here.

3. Get to know yourself and love who you are. If you love who you are, you are bound to be more emotionally stable. This will go a long way in improving your life.

4. Exercise your mind. Just like your body, your mind needs exercise too. It is essential that you keep your mind as toned as your body.

How do you exercise your mind?
a. Read. Reading is a fantastic way to strenghten your mind muscle. Not only are you using your brain during the whole process, you are also learning new things at the same time.
b. Do things that stretch your mind, like watching educational shows, play games, do crossword puzzles, take part in quizzes. Blog frequently. It really helps.lol
c. Expand your memory. When you are in a car or walking, try to remember road signs, licence plates, car colours etc. Or get hold of a dictionary and try to memorise at least three new words and their meaning everyday.

5. Nurture relationships with family and friends. They are an important part of our emotional well-being. Think of how much better you will feel when you share your experiences with someone you care about.

6. Yoga is a fantastic way to make sure you stay balanced and energised. It is a programme that incorporates physical exercises along with breathing and relaxation techniques to help exercise the mind and body.

All in all, try and be happy always. Don't give anything or anyone the power to make you sad, depressed, angry or miserable. Think positive
