33 feared dead in Ogun as Coaster bus plunges into River

No fewer than 33 passengers were feared  dead yesterday  when a coaster bus loaded with passengers skidded-off  a dual carriage bridge and plunged into a river at J4, Ogbere -Ijebu stretch of the Sagamu – Ore expressway, in Ijebu East Local government area of Ogun state.

It was gathered that the bus sank immediately it plunged into the river and was reportedly swept away from the point of entry to the river.

KWAM1 talks about his marriage to ex-wife's niece, Titi Masha

Genevieve, Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid visit flood victims in Delta State

On October 15^th and 16^th 2012,  Ms. Genevieve Nnaji, and the MAVIN Crew, Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, and Tiwa Savage organized relief supplies and personally visited the refugee camps located in Asaba, Delta State in order to show both physical and moral support to the displaced victims.

The flood, currently ravaging through the nation has displaced over 100,000 families, leaving a lot of people homeless and without any business to keep them afloat. Our Nigerian stars went down to distribute relief supplies, as well as utilize their celebrity influence and raise more awareness to this ongoing natural disaster.

Kim and Kanye jet off to Rome for Kim's 32nd birthday

Kim and Kanye are currently in Rome ahead of Kim's 32nd birthday which is this Sunday Oct 21st. They were snapped catching a romantic dinner and later sharing a kiss outside a restaurant in Italy last night.

Breaking news: Ifeanyi Uba granted bail

Billionaire businessman and MD of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd, Mr Ifeanyi Uba was this evening released from the custody of the Special Fraud Unit after spending 10 days in their cell in Ikoyi. He was arrested on October 9th following accusations of fraud totaling N43billion from the Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede led presidential committee on verification and reconciliation of fuel subsidy payments. The committee discovered gross abuse by many marketers and reported the case to the police.

Mr Uba was released this evening after he fulfilled his bail conditions.

Nicole Chikwe's N1.7million wedding gown

According to award winning couture designer, Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah Creations, Nicole Chikwe's wedding dress which he designed cost £6, 000 while the matching veil cost £850, which all adds up to £6,850. That's about N1.7 million. He told NET in an exclusive interview that it took him about 7 months to make the dress.

Meanwhile, my peeps spotted Mrs Chikwe yesterday at Reeds Club for Rotimi Domingo's pre-wedding party and they swear she's preggers. They said her tummy now has a slight bulge and she looked like she's just finishing her first trimester. If this is true, you read it here first. Jim Iyke has an 11 year old son?

According to what Stella Dimoko Korkus is reporting, Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke recently found out that he has an 11 year old son named Mario Ikechukwu who lives in the UK with his mum.

Nkem Owoh in property battle with widow

Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osuofia is currently entangled in a property mess with a secondary school teacher, Mrs. Gloria Ayogu (pictured above with her children). The widowed mother of two has petitioned the police over the demolition of her house (pictured above) at 9, Ikpeama Street, Emeheluaku Layout, Trans Ekulu in Enugu which she claims was carried out by Nkem Owoh.

Mrs Ayogu said Nkem Owoh warned her in 2008 not to build on the land she claims her late husband bought, registered and left to her and their children before his death in 2004, but she went ahead and built a bungalow, and on Sunday September 30th Nkem Owoh allegedly had the house pulled down.

Paul Adefarasin Completes N3 billion Rock Cathedral

Pastor Paul Adefarasin's led House on the Rock church building, Rock Cathedral, which has gulped about N3 billion to erect, has been finally completed. The church which sits on 32, 000 square meters, will sit at least 10, 000 thousand worshipers in the church auditorium and another 10,000 within the church premises and may be declared open for use in December 2012.

The Rock Cathedral, also known as Millennium Temple, took almost 8 years to complete and is situated along the Lekki Epe Express way, close to Liberty Hall.

British engineers produce amazing 'petrol from air' technology

A small company in the north of England has developed the “air capture” technology to create synthetic petrol using only air and electricity. Experts last night hailed the astonishing breakthrough as a potential “game-changer” in the battle against climate change and a saviour for the world’s energy crisis.

The technology, presented to a London engineering conference this week, removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The “petrol from air” technology involves taking sodium hydroxide and mixing it with carbon dioxide before "electrolysing" the sodium carbonate that it produces to form pure carbon dioxide. Hydrogen is then produced by electrolysing water vapour captured with a dehumidifier.

Aluu 4 suspects remanded in custody;3 recount what transpired that day

The 13 suspects arrested in connection with the murder of four UNIPORT students have been charged before a Port Harcourt Magistrate on a five-count charge of conspiracy and murder and were yesterday remanded in prison till the case comes up again in December. The Nigeria Police Force has also dismissed the policeman who was part of the mob that killed the students. The policeman has been identified as Lucky Orji.

I have restrained myself for a couple of years from commenting on Tonto Dike's career after my last comments about her role in the soft porn movie she acted in two years back, were badly taken by her and she went on twitter to hurl infantile insults on my person with expletives and uncomplimentary remarks. My reaction to such then was just a dignified silence. After all, I had already spoken on her stunted talent as an up and coming actress and further comments on her incensed tweets were unnecessary.

Billionaire businessman Ifeanyi Uba spends second week in detention

The billionaire businessman and MD of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd is currently in a small cell at the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi. He was arrested on October 9th following accusations of fraud totaling N43billion from the Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede led presidential committee on verification and reconciliation of fuel subsidy payments. The committee discovered gross abuse by many marketers and reported the case to the police. His company leads the list of 25 companies indicted by the committee which discovered about N62 billion of subsidy fraud.

So he's now facing criminal investigation and prosecution for Capital Oil and Gas' involvement in fuel subsidy fraud. He was in court yesterday and the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigerian Police told the court that the money stolen by Mr Uba, could conveniently pay the monthly allocation of 11 states of the federation and asked the courts not to grant him bail, which they didn't. The case was adjourned to Monday October 22nd.

Meanwhile, his company has been blacklisted by banks on the recommendation of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
