Breaking news: Ifeanyi Uba granted bail

Billionaire businessman and MD of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd, Mr Ifeanyi Uba was this evening released from the custody of the Special Fraud Unit after spending 10 days in their cell in Ikoyi. He was arrested on October 9th following accusations of fraud totaling N43billion from the Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede led presidential committee on verification and reconciliation of fuel subsidy payments. The committee discovered gross abuse by many marketers and reported the case to the police.

  9. This guy goes abt with scores of Mobile Policemen as guards. My question is where hv these Policemen been while he is in detention. To their barracks waiting for his release so they can go back? Shameless society, Shameless Police.

I concede this guy his constitutional presumption of innocence, just that i hate vulgarity. What's his pedigree by the way? Only in Nigeria can a buffon come out of nowhere and bamboozle everyone with ill gotten wealth. And for the record, he is not the only one. What a shame.

  17. Na today? Meanwhile the comments on this blog though...one says because he is building a library he should be released. Don't worry, he will steal all the money allocated to education next time and use a fraction to build your school a toilet. Then there's the one about bad belle...lo we truly deserve the leaders we get in this country. I don't blame you all

  22. God will always fight for the oppressed. In all there were 25 companies recommended for investigation, where are others? Tukur, Ali, Otedola, and Lawan were first arrested, where are they now? They were all granted bail before they could spend a night with their captors. But Mr. Uba is Okoro they could detain him till infinity, they have no say in the country.

  23. We hope to see him and many others like him face justice. Enough of the noise.

  32. Sometimes a white shirt is just a white shirt. Just ask the French author and philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy, who has no interest in discussing the suavely unbuttoned garment that for his fans and detractors alike has become synonymous with his name
