According to the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on New Media, Petra Akinti Onyegbule, the accident involved an SUV and a commercial bus which was traveling from Lagos to Kano. Both vehicles were said to have been engulfed in flames burning 16 passengers to death. 3 of the dead passengers were in the SUV while 13 were occupants of the bus.
A lone survivor from the bus has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. May the souls of the victims rest in peace. Wishing the survivor a speedy recovery.
