APC calls for 3-days fast in Osun state

The chairman of APC in Osun State, Gboyega Famodun has called on residents of the state to embark on a three-day special fasting and praying period starting from tomorrow, January 6th to Friday January 8th 2016. According to a statement by Famodun, the prayers will be geared towards seeking divine intervention “so that our last year losses may be restored.” He asked that the state residents should pray for God’s favour so that 2016 will reverse the unpleasant fortunes of last year, and bring prosperity and blessings instead.

Such disgusting words coming from a politician! This is why we will never move forward, cos we keep hoping on God for miracles when we can solve our issues

  19. Whenever I read articles such as this, I can't but feel so broken. Broken that a few people who call themselves politicians can keep playing on the intelligence of my people simply because they have realised that my have overly spriritualised everything. A man single-handedly plunged the state into a position of indebtedness due to his uncautioned manner of spending and electioneering and you are asking innocent people to pray?! I think they should rather pray that EFCC pickes all those responsible for the current financial position of the state. I think it an insult on the good people of the state for a politician to even suggest this. Finally, I think this is a clear indication that the state, and the country at large may never move forward in our time since rather than do what we need to do so as to get out of the woods, we always resort to praying. Even God, says he will bless the works of your hands, meaning you must be doing something he can find to bless. Cheers!

  38. Osun state should turn away from idols worshiping when a land is filled with idolaters such maybe under curses, The bible says God doesnt share His glory with golden image, God hates it, they are handiwork of man. Since they believe in fasting and prayers ie in THE LIVING GOD{so to say)let them turn solely to Him. Combination of both wont work.

  39. Rubbish, our leaders keep using religion to hoodwink the poor volatile masses. 40days praying and fasting can't change Rauf from his wickedness. He is the one that should pray and fast to ask God for forgiveness because he made God's children to suffer last year.

    Arrant nonsense.

  40. Why them no do 40days no be only 3 days. Is the same government that put that state where they are today.

U carry agbero with only HND abi na primary school certificate and null wits to rule a state that should have very well educated persons to helm it's resourceless affairs but for bigotry fanatism and nepotism.
