Nigerians block a Turkish Airline Plane from leaving Abuja (Photos)

Passengers at the Abuja Airpot blocked a Turkish Airline plane from leaving the runway a day ago. Passengers who have been at the airport for over 5 days without their luggage, finally reacted by blocking one of their planes, which they say will not leave Abuja until a solution is presented.

The Passengers said they got no information, and no announcements were made and Nigerians were stranded with their luggage missing at their airport and this forced some to spend their Christmas there.

  13. This turkish airline peeps haven't change a bit. Same thing they did to me in may 2012.

I was travelling from italy to nigeria, transited in istabul turkey. I got to Lagos nigeria at night.

Hoping to get my luggage's, but they were saying i had to come the following day.
I went there the following day they said the same thing. Na so i take spend three days for lagos ooo.

The luggages finally arrived the third day.

Na them go delay for transit port. Na their luggage no go still arrive with you same time.
May God deliver them from the spirit of flights delay & late luggage arrival in 2016....

  19. Their reaction is a disgrace and they should have been arrested.

They all acted uncivilised and there are better ways of handling issues such as this. They sure won't try that in western countries where am sure most of they flew from.

We need a serious war on indiscipline in this country, this should not be condoned by anyone at all.

I wonder why Nigerian govt allows them to carry Nigerians with their aircraft's.their customer's service is terrible and they don't have apologies for any mistakes. With My last experience with the airline I will never fly Turkish airline again. Never ever. Aviation minister should urgently look into this particular airline.

  146. I was on the Turkish Airline flight that came in Thursday night/ early hours Friday morning. Horrible experience! Almost every passenger on my flight did not get their luggage. Question is, did the plane fly empty? I believe in following procedure for such incidents however what was most horrifying was that no single staff of Turkish airline was on ground, they closed their offices and disappeared. Minimum expectation is that a staff of the airline will be on ground explaining the situation and expected arrival of the luggage including taking down passengers names and details. However this was not the case and I met people at the airport that arrived since Sunday the 20th, still no luggage and no word from Turkish Airlines. Some of them don't leave in Nigeria but only came back for the holidays and were stuck in Abuja not able to proceed to their final destination. I had to call Turkish Airlines customer service and was asked to fill a form online they responded that they will investigate and they still haven't come back.

It's a pity that people had to resort to blocking the tarmac to get the Government and NCAA to respond to a situation that has been ongoing for over a week. People react like this were laws to protect passengers are not implemented by the appropriate authorities.
